Hi all. Had my baby just over 6 weeks ago. I started my pill over a week ago but had unprotected sex on day 5 of the pill. Today I had some pink discharge.

I can't remember if the pink discharge is just my body adjusting to the pill or could it be implantation bleeding?

I know you can't know for sure but I'm struggling to find answers online atm!

Thanks all x

For context it took me around a year to conceive my baby off the pill so I don't think I'm that fertile.

Is it the combined or mini pill?

I don't know if you are pregnant but i had 2 babies 1 year apart. So you could be!

I'm on microgynon

Mini pill only needs 2 days of pill taking whereas combined needs 7 days. Are you breastfeeding as that can help delay ovulation too

If you started the pill on days 1-5 of your cycle you’ll be fine if not then yes it takes seven days to become effective. If it’s been in the last few days you could take MAP.
You can find out info on the FPA website or Faculty of reproduction and sexual health and check out guidance for combined methods, there’s a grid somewhere on their that’ll tell you about missed pills or sex before it’s effective.

@Lymphy not sure when my cycle is as I've not long given birth and haven't had a period yet, just started taking the pill at around 5 weeks post birth. I will finish this month of pill and see if I get my period
