Hi everyone I am new to posting but have trawled through posts for a while now.
I don't think I have a question really, more wanting some advice/chat as I don't really have anyone I can talk to about things.
Me and my fiancè of 10 year have been talking alot recently about wanting to try for our first baby.
I am so excited to be a mum and feel ready(as much as I can be) however I am very overweight and am wondering am I being selfish not trying to diet before becoming pregnant?
Childbirth terrifies me but I also have the fear of having to get parts of my body out, like my tummy for scans etc is this really stupid did anyone else feel like this?
Also I had been on the pill for 10 years and stopped in October but we have been using protection to try and get my periods to come back/regulate before trying to conceive.
Sorry for my rambling x

That's completely understandable. I am pregnant (due date today! Woohoo!) and would be classed as 'obese' with a high BMI. The drs do kinda put you down about it as it can lead to gestational diabetes etc.. but I wouldn't say you necessarily have to lose weight before getting pregnant.

As long as you're happy and healthy as you are, I'd say it isn't a problem. Good luck! Smile

It's healthier generally and reduces certain risks from pregnancy if you are in the 'normal' bmi range. It's possible to diet and ttc at the same time.
