After TTC for 6 months and having 1 miscarriage going to be more proactive in tracking ovulation. Is the ava bracelet worth it or should I just get ovulation sticks?
What ovulation tests do people use please?

I use a combination of cheapies from amazon and clearblue advance. I've been tempted by an Ava. The Fitbit charge 3 offers similar, but without body temp. Been trying for 12 months, including an early mc cycle 2. This month I'm thinking of not peeing on as many ovulation sticks. I've recently started acupuncture too.

I've spent a lot more than the cost of an Ava on ovulation sticks. But I guess no one knows how many sticks they'll need to buy!

I have started acupuncture as well. I know 6 months isn't classed as long but it's so stressful and upsetting all the BFNs. I just want to maximise my chances

I was using the clearblue monitor (same as advanced OPKs) and BBT to let me know when my fertile time was (a few days before ovulation) and to confirm ovulation happening. I have now switched to Ava as it does the same but it’s much easier. You just put the bracelet on when you go to sleep and sync it in the morning. No more weeing on sticks all the time and worrying about temping as soon as you wake up!

It uses different measurements to predict the fertile time each cycle, and will give you a warning when it has started. It can then confirm ovulation too after a few days. It costs more upfront (although the clearblue monitor wasn’t cheap either), but you don’t have to then spend money on sticks or app subscriptions or anything. I am planning to resell it once I’m done with it, so overall it will be cheaper than OPKs.

If you are planning on getting an Ava, make sure it’s the newest version (2.0) as it’s more accurate and apparently has a sturdier bracelet on it. It’s worked well for me; from the first complete cycle I used it, it has accurately predicted ovulation. I’m so fed up of OPKs and taking my temperature without moving a muscle each morning. It just adds stress to something which is stressful enough as it is. So I caved and bought an AVA bracelet. It’s charging ready for its first go tonight! I’m quite excited. It is expensive, but hopefully worth it and i think ive probably spent more on OPKs since we started trying. I have a discount code link for £20 off if anyone decides to take the plunge Smile It’s:

I’ll post about my experience once I’ve used it for a cycle.
