Very clear positive yesterday with clear blue easy with first morning urine then a negative later that day.
Tried another digital first thing this morning- "not pregnant"
I'm devastated. I just want to know. It's been a painful journey this year. I've read there's no such thing as a false positive? But then why would it be reading not pregnant twice?

Them CB digitals are horrible. When I was pregnant, it said 2-3, then back to 1-2! It terrified me so much. I would forget about taking tests now and go with your first pregnancy test which said positive and leave it at that. It also sounds like your urine was diluted, hence the negative tests after but I may be wrong. My advice is to book an appointment with a midwife and go from there - tell her your feelings and she may be able to refer you for an early scan to put your mind at ease. I wish you all the luck in the world for a healthy and happy pregnancy Thanks

Digitalis don't detect hormones as quickly as non digital. I was showing positive on stick tests for 3/4days before digital said positive.

purplerainbows · 28/12/2018 08:55

The afternoon test would probably have been negative as it's early on so you won't have a high enough hormone level in the afternoon to detect. And the clear blue digital tests are much less sensitive than others so they take a while to detect pregnancies. I wouldn't worry about either of those. Congratulations 💐

The CB digital are actually 6 days early tests and show up quite quickly. CB digital is what I got my BFP on 9 DPO.

The CB with the cross line are notorious for false positives on this site.

The clear blue digital tests measure to 25 mIU/ml. If you want a clearer idea try a frer or similarly more sensitive test with fmu. I wouldn't worry just yet, false positives are very uncommon. Look at www.countdowntopregnancy.com/pregnancy-test/brands.php for test sensitivities. FX for you x

I have done 2 pregnancy tests one yesterday and one today, both have come back faint positive, because of the faint lines I thought I would phone my doctors surgery for a telephone app to see if they could put my mind at rest. I have just come of the phone to a doctor and she asked did I have any symptoms I said my breasts are sensitive and that I feel quite tired during the day but not sure if I'm just being more lazy in the Christmas holidays with all the food! I also told her my period was due yesterday and I've had slight cramping in my back but it was just for a short period yesterday! She said the test you've done are quite good so id say go with what they say, she said but you should like your having a miscarriage and that id need to test again in 10 days.. she then said there's nothing more I can help you with and that she was it!? She never gave me advice and I now as a result feel absolutely awful. I have looked on google and it's saying constant back pain is a sign of miscarriage but I didn't describe it as that I described it like a period cramp without the blood for a short period of time! I now wish I didn't phone the doctor as I'm feel totally stressed now and worrying!?

Hey all I’m 8 days late and having many many symptoms. In my case I’m only doing the digital as I have had so many faint lines at the start of the year over a few months Confused so I took a mental break and start trying again. Still no positive yet. Is it ok to be this late?
Sa11zza- Your doctor should not have said that to you. How are you now??

sa11zza · 31/12/2018 13:46

When she phoned she said she was a locum doctor! I'm going to go buy a digital test this afternoon and do another test tomorrow morning.

The words the doctor used was with the back ache it sounds like you could be having a miscarriage.. and then went on to say I would only be very early stages and that it was something many people deal with.. I just feel like I wish I didn't phone! I was looking for them to say hand in a urine sample and we will do test to see and not what I was told! This would be my first pregnancy and although I'm 28 not many of my friends have children yet and I don't no the process or what I would need to do next, myself and my husband have been trying, this was our 2nd proper month of trying and looking out for the signs, I've also bought us the Wellman and then Wellwoman tablets to make sure we were doing everything we could from our end to make us healthy!

GPs tend not to test - home pregnancy tests can be so clear that there is no need. If this is the first missed period, then would be considered very early days and what doc said right really - wait and see. Test again in a week. In the meantime, if you have any other issues, then call again. Otherwise, there’s a limit to the help that can be given at this stage.

I don’t think I saw my gp during any of my pregnancies. My grandmother was surprised that I knew I was pregnant so early - used to be that you didn’t mention to the doctor until you had missed 3 periods (in her day). So many things are better about modern ante natal care, but at the same time expectations are really high too which means that people feel let down or disappointed.

Nb - I also had some back pain in v early pregnancy, but wasn’t a miscarriage. So fingers crossed for you.

I'm not pregnant. Period came. I've complained to clear blue about the test and they did very little. 💔

Ah that's really disappointing but it won't necessarily be the tests fault. 50% of pregnancies end in miscarriage (if you include all the ones that happen before a period is due). That's why testing before a missed period is not advised. Many pregnancies don't 'take' and people don't know about it so are non the wiser. By testing early - as tempting as it is - it's likely you could have been pregnant but that it wasn't successful this time

Good luck next month though
