Hi,

I got a positive test two weeks ago, 1-2 weeks on clear blue. 6 days later I began to bleed heavily, clots and I soaked through a pad an hour for around 48 hours. This tailed off and stopped after this. Since then I have been sick each morning and this morning I took another test. 3+ weeks. Could I still be pregnant?

It is impossible to say without a blood test.

Yeah I am going to make a GO appointment today. Just musing (and hoping) today really!

Yes. You are still pregnant. You're pregnant if you get a positive test.

Is it a viable pregnancy? Different question altogether. That would require a series of blood tests over time to determine.

Jeepers what a confusing time for you!! Hope all's well and it was a 'normal', but not common, early pregnancy bleed!!

The hormone can still be in your body despite bleeding heavily. You are not DEFINITELY pregnant without blood test. Previous commenter please don't get OP hopes up.

Being pregnant does not always result in a baby. We all know this. That's what I was talking about with a VIABLE pregnancy.

I'm not trying to get the op's hopes up. I am being scientific. The presence of hcg = pregnancy.

Only time will tell if hcg levels rise appropriately, indicating a progressing pregnancy. If hcg levels drop, then the pregnancy is not viable, unfortunately. But it was still a pregnancy.

@Tunnocks34 Sorry you are going through this. Try and go to an EPU unit if there is one close to you and explain what has happened, they will be able to confirm with blood tests and a scan if needed. It can go either way at this stage - a heavy bleed can of course indicate a loss and the hormone may have remained in the system, however a heavy bleed can also happen in early pregnancy causing no issues. In fact a very good friend of mine had a big bleed at 5 weeks, and is currently 19 weeks pregnant. It really is impossible to know without the tests at the hospital so I would try and get in and be seen as soon as you can. I hope you are okay, it must be a horribly confusing time!

Went to the EPU today (referred by GP) I had a large subchroinic heamorage. Baby has a heart beat! Thanks for the advice.
