Chart help please - no ovulation

I got a positive opk a week ago but my bbt chart is all over the place so no ovulation spotted on it. I am so upset that I didn't even have a chance this month. I have a stinking cold at the moment which could be affecting my temps but it is also making my taste and smell different, just like when I have been pregnant before which feels really cruel as I find myself getting my hopes up.

Can any chart people have a look and see what they think?

Have you tried discarding the temps with the open circles? I think you ovulated on day 14/15 but those two high temps before are throwing your chart out.
How much of a discrepancy between usual time/actual time taken was there?

There’s this site that adjusts the time for you but I’m not sure how accurate it is.

Thank you @MiseryLoves
I didn't think about doing the disregards, this has made my chart this month very similar to previous months. Two of the times were taken an hour later than usual (weekend lie ins!) and one was after a night out when I drank a bit
So that makes me 8dpo, not sure how I feel about that. Not knowing how many dpo I was meant I wasn't counting down the days until testing. On the other hand reassuring to look like I have ovulated this month.

Do you use a themometer to 2 decimal places and are you temping at the same time everyday? When I first temp I didn’t realise about the timing but once I started to do it as soon as I woke up I had smoother curves

I don't have a thermometer to two decimal places as I used to track 6 yrs ago when trying to conceive ds2 and then it was never advised to do the two decimal spaces and it worked fine then so I figured I would stick to the one. It has worked fine for the last 5 cycles.
I try to do it at the same time but as I wake at 6am on the week days sometimes it is nice to not wake until 7 on the weekend!

I also think you ovulated day 14/15. I reckon if you’ve had a cold that’ll be it, either running a bit warmer than usual but I suspect that with your cold you’ll be mouth breathing which will effect the temps ( unless you take them vaginally). I previously used a normal thermometer but I did get a bbt one from amazon for three quid the difference in my chart was great, so much easier to read x

I would say day 15 or possibly day 19. I would get the most accurate thermometer you can. Sometimes you can get a positive OPK but your body actually decides not to ovulate, and then tries again in a few days so I would keep using OPKs even after your first positive just in case!

A more accurate themometer makes a big difference. For this cycle try to disregard the temps for day 12 and 13 and see if changes anything. Doing an ovulation test also helps pinpoint ovulation. I saw some in Poundland but not sure if those ones are any good 😊

Daisypod · 13/12/2018 09:19

Yes as I said I did get positive opk on day 13 and I have carried on doing them since which is why I was worried there would be no ovulation this month as they have been negative ever since.
Now I have disregarded the temps taken an hour later than normal it did put ov at cd15 and my chart looks like previous months.
From everything I have read a temp shift for ov is around 0.5 - 0.7 so big enough to not need the two decimal places to see the pattern.
Thanks for your help ladies, looks like 9dpo now so at least I didn't have the first week symptom spotting!
