Low AMH but good FSH?

I'm 34 (35 next May) and have a 3 month old little boy who took 12 cycles to conceive

My period went wonky around the time I started TTC my son and since it returned it's the same...very short and light and only 22-26 days apart

I had a difficult delivery and was advised to wait at least a year but preferably 18 months before trying for a second baby due to him tearing my womb during my c section

Due to the combination of being told to wait, my dodgy period and the fact it took a fair while to conceive the first time I decided to get my FSH and AMH tested to check out my fertility status

My tests were done on CD3 by a reputable private clinic so should be accurate

My FSH was 7.0 which I feel is pretty good for my age but my AMH is only 7.5 nmol/l which is worryingly low

IVF won't be an option as we won't be entitled to treatment on the NHS as we have a child and we won't be able to afford to pay privately

I do realise I'm very lucky to have a child but really want my little boy to have a sibling and I'm terrified I will run out of time before my womb has healed enough to carry another baby

Has anyone else had similar results and gone on to successfully conceive naturally?

Hi @polkadotpixie, so sorry to hear you are going through such a worrying time.
Whilst trying for our dc2 I had my AMH levels tested and had a result of 0.2. I was devastated and thought it was the end of the road for us. We decided to try IVF anyway, and after 5 cycles got lucky and my dd is now almost 5.
My advice would be this -
1 - do not get het up about any results. Your AMH level is only a number, and as I was told by many doctors (after I consistently produced more eggs than they expected) it is somewhat overrated.
2 - your FSH is the more important number and as it is good this bodes well.
3 - remember that even someone with an incredibly low AMH level of almost 0 can get pregnant. I have fallen pregnant naturally twice since dd, and although neither of them worked out I truly believe that low AMH is not always an obstacle. It indicates quantity, not quality - and you only need one good egg to make a baby!
Good luck & feel free to ask more questions if you’d like.
