Are you in the uk?? If so, the fear of losing your job is a non-worry as you're well-protected by the law. Find out what maternity leave you'd be entitled to and what the financial package would look like. Many people save well in advance to cover any shortfall.

It's your life. If you want a family, make it work.

I'm in the same situation. Started new job 5 months ago and desperately want to have another baby. Only thing holding me back is worrying if or not I'll be entitled to maternity pay, can't afford to not have any income at all! I can't seem to find the right information online so I'll be watching on here x

You'd both be entitled to smp but check your contracts or maternity policy at work to see if you get a better package.

The thing is within the first couple of years you actually don’t have much protection.

im on a temp rolling contract as well think thats for 3 years so i dont really know if i have any protection at all. and if i were to lose my job would i be able to claim benefits until i was able to get a new job?

Pregnancy is a protected characteristic. An employer would have to really have all the boxes ticked to get rid of you once you make them aware you are pregnant.

It's very easy to make claims to of pregnancy discrimination.

thank you that's really helpful
