What are the benefits of it when ttc? At what point in your cycle is it good to have it?

I had it after a mc. I went every week for the first month, then every two weeks for the following month or two before I got pregnant again.

My acupuncturist "warmed" my uterus, helped develop a good layer into which the egg could implant and generally tweaked me so my body was receptive to having a baby. It was great for my general well-being too.

I don't know if it was just a placebo effect but I really do feel it helped massively; having spent 20 cycles to get my first bfp I was so down about it all.

Just make sure you choose someone who is registered, and I would find someone who is experienced in doing it in pregnancy too, as needles in the wrong place at the wrong time can cause miscarriage. But if you get someone competent, it's great to have in pregnancy too, I still go once a month or so. It helped early on as I was worried about another mc.

Good luck! Best thing I ever did!

@Chanel05 I’ve been having accupuncture since we’ve been trying since August. I go twice a month and found that my periods aren’t painful. I don’t get a day of cramps or clots.
Still waiting for that BFP though!

I got pregnant first cycle using accupuncture. Highly recommended it. Was great for de-stressing in general too

I loved it, and totally credit it with shortening my cycles after they were all over the place since coming off the pill.

I had 6 months of it and they went from 37/38 days+ down to 30-32.

I also found it hugely relaxing and only stopped as I couldn't afford to keep it up indefinitely, but will absolutely be going back ahead of IVF.

As pp said choose a registered acupuncturist and maybe only pay for 1 session upfront in case you don't like it (or the acupuncturist!)

Good luck xx
