Hi all, I’m 26, my partner is 27 and we’re TTC. Had my nexaplon implant removed over a year ago now and still nothing (I had it for 3 years, and another 3 years prior) I’ve been using my calendar/app and been having sex on my fertile days. Last month I was convinced I was, only to be confronted with a BFN 😩
A few years ago I went to the GP and had an ultrasound for PCOS which they said from looking at the scan was likely but they needed to do a blood test to confirm. I didn’t get this confirmed as I was told I would have had to stop all hormonal contraception for at least 6 months which at the time wasn’t doable.
We did get pregnant 7 years ago but unfortunately I miscarried and we thought it was a sign it wasn’t the time and put our plans on hold for a few years..

does anyone have any advice? Is it normal to have to wait this long after having nexaplon removed (AF arrived 2 weeks after and I’ve been regular ever since)? Did anyone else struggle at our age?
I’m not avoiding the GP, I just want to explore all avenues before I go. TIA xxxx

Not sure on the implant but trying over a year with no joy? We went to the Drs, a few things, they can do bloods, 21 day to see if you ovulate, they can do checks regarding the pcos and I've just had a lap and dye to check the tube is open, and to treat endometriosis that I didn't know I had. Think they check the partners swimmers. Also check things like amh levels for you.

@Clearthinking Thank you so much for your response. I'm new to here and this is my first post! Looks like a trip to the GP would really help me out if that's the case. Maybe il call them for an appointment tomorrow. Hope everything's going well for you?

@Clearthinking also, how long did you leave it before going to the doctors? I'm just worried they'll send me away? And I'm also really worried incase they tell me I'm completely infertile. I know it sounds silly but it's one of my biggest fears, especially when we've been struggling

What are you doing to determine your fertile window ? are you using ovulation tests or body temperature ?

Clearthinking · 13/11/2018 23:00

Don't worry, you have time, I'm 35 trying for 2nd. He was quick to conceive (1st month of trying) although I'm scratching my head to what I was doing different. I know I walked alot, helps strengthen the pelvis and blood flow, and cut the carbs and sugar. Lots of water to "flush toxins out" may have helped also. Good luck! :-)

@Monday55 I've just been relying on my regular like clockwork cycle. I do get ovulation pain (I'm guessing) at the same time every cycle. Maybe I'm just not ovulating at all?!

@Clearthinking thanks for the advice, il give anything a go! Just baffles me how it's so easy for some, and so hard for others. And like you say, you're not doing anything different this time round 🤔 best of luck to you too! Xx

Hi @Tulipsaremyfave123 and welcome 😊

I would definitely suggest using ovulation prediction kits (opks) for a couple of months as they will hopefully give you more of an idea that you are ovulating and when.
Can't also hurt to start enquiries with a gp, especially if you had possible pcos previously.

My husband and I started TTC almost 18 months ago and got the ball rolling g on go tests after about 12/13 months of nothing.

Good luck 💕

No, your not infertile as you had a miscarriage. You need to explain you have been pregnant but cant get pregnant again. So you need help finding out why. We waited 3 years but what I wish I knew was the lap and dye thing. We went to see a private gynaecologist and he actually said he would do the op, I was to go back to my dr and ask him to refer me. They take nhs patients all the time. Before that though, I think they do a number of bloods, scans etc. Lap and dye is last resort - I believe, and it's to check tubes and endometriosis etc
