TTC 2 YEARS - LAPAROSCOPY POSSIBLE ENDOMETRIOSIS

Hi,
Both my partner and I are 32 and been TTC for 2 years now. We've not fallen pregnant during this time. Cycle is 28 days, period always on time and fairly light to medium over 3-4 days. Very little period pain either.
Partner been tested and no problems with him. I'm now due to have a laparoscopy as Dr thinks I may have endometriosis. As I said I've had not issues with my cycle so not sure, but Dr said she thinks she could see it in my last test. Just after advice really. Nervous about the laparoscopy, never had it before. Unsure what happens now. Scared we'll need IVF.
Just wondered if anyone had any experience of this and/or advice.
It's so hard to talk about honestly with friends and family.

Hello,

We had been trying for around a year and then I had a laparoscopy in July which revealed quite extensive endometriosis - ovaries, womb and fallopian tubes were all stuck together and stuck to my abdomen, and one fallopian tube was blocked and had to be removed. But like you, I hadn't had any problems with my cycles - and luckily only a tiny bit of pain (a few aches but nothing serious). I was actually really surprised I had endometriosis.

I thought with having endometriosis and only one fallopian tube we would definitely need ivf but we started trying again in September and last week I got a BFP - so fingers crossed.

I just posted on another thread to say the laparoscopy itself wasn't too bad - it's the wind pain in the shoulder that is the worst bit but that subsides quite quickly. I took peppermint oil capsules to ease the wind.

Best of luck, I hope it all works out well.

I'm currently recovering from a laproscopy and it isn't as bad as you may think. It does take at least a week to recover but it'll be worth it. You could ask for a MRI but even if MRI doesn't show anything you would probably still be advised to have a laproscopy.
