Ok.. so I'm 6 days late, having lots of symptoms, tiredness, lower back ache, headache, slight cramping, spots, mood swings, sooo hungry! (Put on weight) I've tested with CB and Cheapie ones but all BFN, my cervix feels like I could be pregnant too and I have bloating which really isn't like me, could I still get a BFP soon?! I'm never normally late! Really want to know 😭

Sorry to say once that I was 10, almost 11 days late once with about 9 BFNS from missed period to when it finally came :(

It does happen every now and then; all you can really do is wait for either a BFP or for your AF to arrive - good luck!

Late ovulation. Quite normal. Generally there is at least one thread a day with the same issue.

Jazzybean97 · 12/11/2018 08:23

I ovulated 9 days into my cycle, I'm using ovulation tests so I know when I ovulated, around the same time as normal.. if it was late ovulation I would know so I wouldn't be dying to know if it could be a BFP soon!

OPKs do NOT confirm you have ovulated - they just indicate the presence of a higher amount of lutenising hormone, which your body releases before ovulation. There are no guarantees that you will then go on to ovulate. The only way to confirm ovulation is with a blood test 7 days after suspected ovulation or by religiously tracking your bbt.

If you are that late and not getting a positive, you are among less than 1% of women who are pregnant but don't get a positive on a test.

Wow you know how to make someone feel shit don't you.. do you actually know how heart breaking it is trying and trying for a baby, having no hope and no joy.. then when you actually could be you have someone like you pretty much saying there's no chance.. If ovulation tests aren't true then why do they sell? Why do they exist? Oh yeah to help people know when to try! If you have nothing positive to say then get off my feed! Looking for people that have been in the same situation not people to put me down! There's still a very high chance I'm still pregnant and it's just my hormone level isn't high enough to detect on a HPT..

I would say if your that late and bfns it's highly unlikely your pregnant. Sorry op, symptoms spotting doesn't really mean anything either as period and pregnancy ones can be identical. Sometimes you can just have a very late period or skip it all together. If you still don't have a period in a week may be worth checking in with your gp.

@Jazzybean97 I am sorry 'I have made you feel shit'. I was ttc for 2 and a half years, so yes, I know the pain of infertility and ttc and not having your body work and disappointment after disappointment for over two fucking years. Month after month. I was eventually lucky enough to become pregnant through IVF.

I know that getting your hopes up is extremely pointless (as it just causes you more grief and distress) and that having low expectations is a better way to survive ttc. I get that not knowing what's going on is frustrating, but I honestly think you haven't read your post and my response in the spirit it was meant.

Your previous post suggested you didn't know the science behind opks and ovulation and I was just trying to enlighten you. I found your certainty really patronising after the years of research I have done into fertility (I am a scientists, but very much a lay researcher in Biology). I am sorry that science upsets you...

Hell, I really hope I'm wrong and you are pregnant - but it would be irresponsible of me to do so.

Good luck in your efforts.

OP, I think your response was really unkind.

All of us on here know the pain of trying and not conceiving. There are also people who read these threads but don't comment and take in the information, so it's important that posters give factual advice.

I don't think the previous poster was trying to put you down or feel shit. I'd feel worse somebody giving me false hope then eventually getting AF. I'd rather rationalise it in my head thinking okay, it's a very low possibility that I am pregnant, I'm still getting BFNs so it's unlikely that I am, and let's just now await the next cycle.

For what it's worth, on my second to last cycle, I had a six week cycle.

On the cycle where I conceived, I conceived on week 5, therefore ovulated three weeks late. So I did eventually get my BFP 2.5 weeks after when I was "late", but i hadn't ovulated on time like you had.

MakeAWhish · 12/11/2018 13:49

Sorry OP, if you ovulated on day 9 and are now 6 days late, if you were pregnant if would show up very plainly on a pregnancy test by now. Alternatively some women can have several lh surges in one cycle, it's possible you didn't ovulate on cd9, if you stopped testing then you may have missed another, later surge so late ovulation is possible, which means a late BFP is possible. I'm afraid that now it's just a waiting game. Good luck

Op your being very rude and unreasonable I think we all know the struggle and heart ache of trying to have a baby. Hence the endless posts on this site every day, we are all in the same boat here. Speak to your doctor as none of us can see inside your body of what's going on. If you was that late ideally you should of had a strong positive by now, hope you get some answers soon
