Endocrinologist - London/ Herts

Does anyone have any recommendations for an endocrinologist in London or Hertfordshire?

I have slightly high levels of thyroxine and have been referred by my GP to an endo but the wait for an appointment is quite long so I am going to go privately through my work's health insurance. I had a mc in August so possibly this is linked.

Grateful for any recommendations!!!

What are your levels?

Hi physicskate! I think you kindly replied to one of my other threads about this. I have actually just had a call from my GP saying they want to put me on meds before the hospital appointment so I think I will do that before the NHS consultation and not do the private one. The GP also just gave me my readings which are:

Free T4: 31
Free T3: 11.3
TSH: less than 0.05

I haven't had an explanation of what they mean as yet and she said the miscarriage may not be related to this?

You look hyperthyroid by those numbers. Your t4 is high and tsh low. Those are generally the results used for medicating purposes. Your numbers are not by any stretch catastrophic and if expect your gp to be able to start you on meds!!

I'm slightly hypothyroid (my numbers are the opposite to you) and I've never seen an endocrinologist. I've always managed and medicated through a gp...

Read up on hyperthyroidism and tell your gp what you need. And push!!!

Thanks physicskate, I will! Hope all's well with you!
