Waiting to Try

I had the talk with my husband last night and we have agreed to start trying for a baby a full year ahead of schedule. So exciting.
Only problem is if we start trying this month and it works. I know there is a very high chance that it won't I would be due in early August and I am a teacher which means losing 6 weeks full pay before starting mat leave.
The plus point of having an August baby is that you pay for childcare for less time but I am hoping that by the time the baby would be at school I wouldnt be working full time anyway.
So basically I know it's smart to wait but it also feels so wrong considering we have just made this massive decision. Also as of next month my husband's mum will be living with us for 6-8 months which might affect conception!
Usually I would bother my mum and best friend about this but I dont want to talk to people about trying to conceive.

I would say don't overthink timings and if you feel ready just go for it. I'm also a teacher and in my last pregnancy I was due in late June; perfect for Mat leave. However bany had other plans amd arrived at 29 weeks in early April! All the planning in the world won't make a difference to the timing of either getting pregnant on any particular cycle you're trying or to when you give birth so take that pressure off yourself and just go for it :)

Totally up to you but I'd just go for it! You can never plan when these things happen xx good luck

Thanks for the advice. I have spoken to my DH about it and I think it's just my bargain hunter personality.
I can't stand to think I am missing a deal (6 weeks off with full pay) but really it's not actually that important in the grand scheme of things and even if I am not working I would want my child in a nursery at least part time and a year less nursery is even part time will add up to the 6 weeks pay I think.
Bring on ovulation...
