Confused, or rather unsure of temping when ttc....

As above really.
I bought a thermometer accurate to two decimal places, thought I’d give temping a try. Only you have to do it at the same time every morning, fine, but I get up 4 days a week at 5:30 for work and I don’t really want to wake up at that time on my days off! I know I can go back to sleep, but still.
So do I really need to be doing this at 5:30 every single day of the month, or only after like day 11 of my cycle (for example)? I’m guessing it’s everyday so I see the change....

Been off the implant for 18 months, so if I have to do it then I’ll suck it up. Just wandered if it matters if I do it at 8am on my days off really? Thanks if you got through that post Smile

It is more accurate if you do it at the same time every day, but I still managed to get a consistent pattern (if a little jagged) but just taking it whenever I woke up.

My tips for a good temperature though are to warm the thermometer up first (I shove it under my thigh while I have a five minute snooze), and I take my reading vaginally. Oral temps were all over the place for me.

I really rate temping - it gives you a lot of information about your cycle, and made me realise how ovulation can vary quite a bit (and also AF), so you are less confused when your AF is late.

I’d never given any thought to taking it vaginally, didn’t know you could actually.
Where’s most accurate? I was just going to put it in my mouth or armpit.
