What to do after third chemical pregnancy

Hi, I'm currently experiencing a third chemical pregnancy in the space of 6 months. I'm 36 and have a 3 year old DD who was conceived naturally.
I am devastated and feel too anxious to try again without having some reassurance from having some fertility tests/treatment. I'm not sure where to go next. I have an appointment with my GP in a fortnight and am planning to ask her for bloods including thyroid and progesterone. I'm worried though the process will take a long time on the NHS. I live in Cardiff and am considering going for a consultation in CRGW.
Does anyone have experience of recurrent miscarriage testing? What did your GP and how long did you wait for an onwards referral? Also has anyone had experience of CRGW? Thanks Ladies.

We had 3 chemicals in a row earlier this year, I went to the GP and just asked for a referral and they sent me to a consultant. I got my initial appointment about 6-8 weeks later (I was NHS referred to the private hospital and they booked me in with a consultant who specialises in non-fertility lady things so had it rearranged). I went to see the consultant, had a scan 2 weeks later and a battery of tests 2 weeks after that.

We are now in the process of waiting on the results but after several more chemicals in the mean time, I've just passed the point I normally lose them so I'm hoping this one might stick.

I started taking baby aspirin before I saw my consultant as I had read online that it helped and it was one of the first things he said to try. He also asked the GP to prescribe progesterone as soon as I got a BFP.

It's a horrible position to be in, and I'm so sorry you are going through it. I would ask the GP what the process is, mine couldn't request the bloods he thought needed done, and I ended up having 15 different ones and my OH had his done too requested from the consultant. We also have another child so we know things are sort of working and they ruled out some stuff anyway.

It's a hard job waiting for things to get going, and so frustrating, but my consultant is lovely and was really helpful x

Hi Laburna and thank you for your reply. I'm sorry that you are going through this too. It sounds like you have a good consultant. Where is your consultant based? I'll ask my GP to refer me on also but in Wales I'm not sure if I'll be able to have fertility support on the NHS as we already have a child. I need to clarify that. I know we definitely can't have IVF funded.

Good luck with this pregnancy. How far along are you? Are you taking the aspirin and progesterone at the moment?
