Hello all,

A bit of background info: DH and I have been TTC for nearly two years now. I had been on the pill for 10 years and it took nearly a year for me to even have a period! Crazy, I know. Periods now are very much regular. We've conceived twice in that time but lost both pregnancies very early on. We've had lots of tests and, frustratingly, there's no medical reason why we are having these fertility problems.

Anyway, DH and I have been trying like mad over my supposed fertile week (using Flo app and also tracking changes in CM) and I have been testing every three days since 11dpo. Yes, like many others on here, I can't help but poas. All frer tests have been negative.

I'm now a week late and yesterday I had some light pink and brown spotting, only when I wiped. My periods are never like this. It seems to have stopped now. I haven't taken a test since Wednesday.

So... any advice from you lovely lot? Can implantation bleeding occur so late? Should I wait a certain amount of time before testing again? Am I reading too much into it and just have a very large G&T?

Thanks Confused

It's possible you haven't ovulated this cycle and that's why you're late on your period. This happens sometimes. I had a cycle like this in August and started spotting before AF finally showed up.
Alternatively, you might have ovulated later than you think you did, in which case the spotting could be AF trying to get going, or implantation bleeding.
It's unfortunately a wait-and-see type of situation here. I know it's frustrating; I'd give it a couple more days.

Have you considered tracking ovulation with an ovulation kit or taking your temperature?
Ovulation kits give you a good idea of when the surge of hormones which kick-start ovulation happens, and temping can help you pin-point exactly when you ovulated which allows you to know when AF is due much more accurately.
Letting nature take it's course is also fine, so long as you have sex around every 2 or 3 days over the course of your cycle, and especially in the run up to when you believe you will be ovulating. Although I have heard that DTD everyday isn't necessarily good for the sperm, so don't feel you have to be at it like rabbits. Wink

I'm really sorry that it's taking so long, and about your losses. I've lost 4 pregnancies this year, 3 of them really early on. It's still heart-breaking losing a pregnancy early on.
(Sorry in advance for saying the following, I know it doesn't really help your situation, but...) As frustrating as it is not having an answer to your fertility issues, try to focus on the fact that there doesn't seem to be a particular problem with your fertility, which means you shouldn't give up hope! Sometimes it just takes longer for some couples, but you'll get there! Flowers

I’d also recommend using opks - cm for me has always been a really unreliable indicator of where I am in my cycle. Tried for DC1 for 15 months, bought a clear blue fertility monitor and got pregnant the first month using it as I was ovulating much earlier than my cm indicated.

DC 2 was an accident - we only dtd once that month (DH was travelling) quite late in my cycle. My cm had gone really thick and sticky so thought I was way past ov...nope! Now 22 weeks!

I also want to 2nd what a pp has suggested. We we're trying for 3 years - bought a clear blue fertility monitor realised we stopped having sex before I even ovulated (the app was wrong). Used the monitor and I was pregnant first month. Unfortunately it wasn't to be but I would strongly recommend opks to try and detect your surge!

But your spotting could be implantation - I would test again in 4-5 days, you might of just ovulated later!

Good luck 🎉
