Helllooooo deariesFlowers

Opening this new thread looking for a light in the tunnel during my journey towards conception. Would be nice to walk along with people in the same journey. To cut my story short, 3 miscarriages and referred to Mr.S, diagnosed with high NK cells and lupus positive, already on levothyroxine. After 2 weeks of staring at the med pack, I have now finally started on Aspirin, Vit D and Pregnacare plus. Awaiting Ovulation to start on Pred protocol.

Miscarriage Sad history:

  1. July 2017 - In my 12 week scan, found foetus with no hb (6 weeks foetus size), devastated! Shock Had severe morning sickness, didn't predict anything negative. Took my son (6 years then) to the scan planning to break the surprise where he could see his sibling in scan.. We all broke down, opted d&c
  1. March 2018 - started bleeding in 6 weeks and miscarried naturally.
  1. July 2018 - spotted in 6 weeks, scan at EPU no pole, returned when 9 weeks along, still nothing, opted d&c

Bought the ovu predictor kit for the first time, counting days to use it. Any of you in the same position? Would be great to hear your stories and cheer each other up towards the destination. Previous threads were beautiful, so supportive but sadly the latest post was in Sep 2017. So most of them would have crossed the bridge. Decided to start on a fresh thread.. So here we are....

Looking forward to catching up... Take care you guys.... Plenty of baby dust to everyone

Hello @moonpeace and welcome! So sorry your going through this hellish journey and so sorryyor your losses. Sending big hugs. Your in the best company here. We have all been travelling the same path and hope to be of great support to you.

Reading your history was like reading an exact copy of my own and others here.

Until I saw Mr Shehata (who has a clinic based in Harley Street and Epsom) I suffered chemical and missed missed carriage. I would recommend getting an appointment with him or Professor Quenby who also is an advocate of the NK theory. Others on the thread may be able to advice other options too.

With reference to your borderline thyroid issue, you probably know fertility experts like it to be in a certain range for pregnancy so I would get a second opinion on that one. Mr Shehata can advise you on that too.

All I can say is I had the same background as you and on Mr S’s plan have thankfully got my sticky one. I take fragmin and progesterone too.

I am sure the other ladies here will be of great resource to you too:

Sending lots of love and hugs xx

Hey @happyapple05 I was just having a think and other than alternating I don’t know what else to suggest other than continuing to drink lots of water and plenty of fibre? I got a little sore up the tradesman too but just kept bending over and kept going eek! Sorry I couldn’t come up with anything better!

Sunshineblonde1 · 29/03/2019 15:08

Oh just remember Mr S said if I got spotting to double the cyclogest and stop the baby aspirin!? Worth checking with your clinic if you can!? Your spotting was prob implantation bleeding.

Hi @moonpeace the tests are not invasive just a simple blood test but about 20 vials - id say they are very expensive. I’ll look up how much mine were but it was around 2k in all with consultation fees with MR S.

I’m not sure about the thyroid numbers I just know that mine were borderline and still required treatment? Xx

Sunshineblonde1 · 30/03/2019 12:42

@moonpeace actually thinking about it it sounds like you’ve had a lot of the tests done already so it would be much cheaper. I had all the tests done with Mr S incl the Thyroid and my other half had the Sperm Comet testing. If you email Mr S and Prof Quenby’s secretary’s they can provide you with a full breakdown of the test costs so you can see individual costs and go from there.

Chickjen · 01/04/2019 14:22

Hi everyone and welcome RedPandaFluff and Moonpeace!
A bit of a curious update from me. I think I have a positive test! I tested Sat mainly because I was going to see the GP and there was a tiny faint line. I tested again yesterday and today and the line is really very faint at first, until the test is completely dry (like 20mins later) when it is as clear as anything. My head is telling me this is nothing more than a dodgy test batch, I am using the cheap one step ones, or maybe another chemical pregnancy. My heart is saying there's hope! AF isn't due till Thursday.
My GP won't help prescribe anything on the list and I'm too scared to risk upsetting MrS if this is a false alarm, so anxiously biting my nails and waiting to test tomorrow 😱

Sunshineblonde1 · 01/04/2019 14:40

Omg @Chickjen! Good luck! A line is a line! Xx

Shame about the unhelpful GP :( just say the pregnancy was unplanned to Mr S. That’s what I said and he hasn’t said anything against it x

Sunshineblonde1 · 01/04/2019 14:43

P.s. the nurses will tell you to get straight on the Pred from BFP. You may want to prep an email to them it won’t hurt x

Chickjen · 01/04/2019 15:41

Thanks @Sunshineblonde1 im not entirely sure how it could have happened, I have been racking my brains and think we must have DTD 4/5 days before and 1 day after O. Fully expecting it to be gone or fainter tomorrow, I haven't even told DH yet.

Sunshineblonde1 · 01/04/2019 15:46

It always happens when you least expect it 😀 mine was a surprise too! All the best for tomorrow’s test 🤞

KittyKatSmile · 01/04/2019 16:07

Chickjen! This is great news! I know you will be terrified but try to be calm and not worry as much as possible. If you need to get on the pred, the nurses can have it sent to you, or you can try something like PushDoctor. You'll have to pay a bit more but they can send the prescription to your local pharmacy. I've done it in the past when I've run out and didn't want to spend £200 for Mr S to give me the prescription. Fingers crossed for you lovely, let us know how you're getting on x

Sunshineblonde1 · 01/04/2019 17:19

@nixwix did you bother with the NHS Nuchal blood test? I just had the NHS Nuchal and dating scan but since doing the Nuchal and Harmony through Mr S wondering whether to bother with the NHS blood test? Xx

Nixwix · 02/04/2019 00:25

@Sunshineblonde1 yeah I did do the NHS dating scan as well as nuchal blood tests. They happened before my private appointments at Dr S'. My hospital had emailed me weeks ago arranging that so I didn't want to pass up on that. I also did all that so that my hospital has records of everything since I plan on delivering there. When is your 16 week scan?

@Chickjen omg fingers crossed for you! It's true, it all happens when you least expect it! Let us know your updates! Smile

@HappyApple05 hope you are getting on well love and the nausea and morning sickness aren't too exhausting! And yes, I think the fact that the spotting is mucousy (if that's a word) it's probably implantation! All the best Smile

Chickjen · 02/04/2019 09:10

Thanks @KittyKatSmile and @NixWix ❤️
The mystery continues this morning! The line is exactly the same as yesterday but possibly developed a little quicker. I have used one step tests through all previous mc's and found them really accurate, but these have changed, the packaging and test strip look and feel a bit different - cheaper, if that is even possible for a piece of sponge on a stick 😜 So lunchtime I will go out and buy a proper test, I have boots and tesco near me, although yesterday tesco only had clear blue digital which I'm not convinced will pick up this early, it is still 2 days before AF.

Sunshineblonde1 · 02/04/2019 09:57

@chickjen, I think it’s safe to say your pregnant!! Cheap or not cheap the line is there. Congratulations! X

KittyKatSmile · 02/04/2019 11:05

Agree with @SunshineBlonde1! You're definitely pregnant. Buy the first response one. I hate the aggression of Clear Blue's 'not pregnant'; no chance of looking at a squinter on that! I've read somewhere else that the cheap ones are the most accurate. Anyway, a line's a line! What are you going to do about the pred? Come over to mine and raid my supplies if you like! Good luck lovely x

Sunshineblonde1 · 02/04/2019 11:11

I had a scare with a cheap one from
Superdrug early on when testing as it came out faint whereas the FRER was always strong. That put the willies up me I tell you!

@nixwix 16 week scan is 25th April. How are you feeling? I’m much preferring the 2nd trimester!! X

Nixwix · 02/04/2019 11:26

@Sunshineblonde1 2nd trimester is quite different, more energy, almost as though I am not preggers. Do have a tiny bump (or is it food? 🤔) are you noticing a bump? I am still adamant on wearing old clothes even though I'm struggling a bit on the waist. have you bought any maternity stuff? 😬 My 16 week appt is on 18th of April, I am just under 16 then.. xxxx

@Chickjen wow, congratulations! Are you ready to get on the pred journey? Hopefully you won't get a moonface like I did. 😋

@KittyKatSmile how are you doing? Xxxx

Sunshineblonde1 · 02/04/2019 11:50

@nixwix, I’ve only got one pair of trousers that fit me, bye bye size 6 skinnies 😂 I’ve put on half a stone. But I love the bump, and I’ve certainly got a wee one there’s no denying it. I’ve not bought maternity per se, will wait until end of April. But I’ve had to buy more comfortable elasticated waist cropped trousers from M+S and some jumper dresses. And I need smart stuff for work too as it’s getting obvious.
Def have more energy like you say. It’s glorious to be back to my old self and the incessant hunger has diminished hurrah! So glad your feeling better too 💗😍

When will you tell work? Xxx

Nixwix · 02/04/2019 14:02

@Sunshineblonde1 so I took a sabbatical this year to focus on this phase and some other things, hoping to return to work in jan next year. So thankfully I have been able to hold off from telling too many people and not draw attention to my moon face and bump haha. Have you told work yet? Bet they'll be excited! Love seeing others' reactions!! Jumper dresses and elasticated trousers are definitely winning ideas! Hoping to get the pregnancy pillow in May to help with the sleeping. How's your sleep been? Xxxxx

Chickjen · 02/04/2019 14:17

Thanks for your words of encouragement @Sunshineblonde1 @KittyKatSmile @NixWix 💝

So I have a pack of 2 FRERs and will test tomorrow morning assuming I can wait that long 🙈 and I guess will contact the clinic first thing tomorrow if these can convince me it's real. I can't believe this is anything other than a tiny spec of HCG from a chemical at the moment.

@KittyKatSmile did you decide to try this month? It must nearly be time if you do?

@NixWix and @Sunshineblonde1 you have bumps!! 🎉 So nice to hear your 'normal' pregnancy chat 😄

HappyApple05 · 02/04/2019 17:30

@Chickjen what a lovely news... Awesome. Just wondered how quickly would you be able to get an appointment with Dr.S if you get in touch with them tomorrow to be able to get on with the protocol.

@Sunshineblonde1 thanks for your tips hun. I'm still spotting on and off and it's mucousy( ha ha Nixwix, you make me chuckle) and have a constant wet feeling down there. Been in touch with the hospital to check of its baby Aspirin, still awaiting response. Hope you find your style of maternity clothes. To be honest, I didn't need maternity clothes at all with my first one. My usual clothes were perfect on me except a couple. That won't be the case this time as I'm not that size anymoreGrin

I'm really struggling with nausea.. Ginger ale + sour pastilles to the rescue at work. Constant running to the look and everyone find a me in front of the sink 🙊😷

@NixWix thanks a lot hun... You guys are helping me stay positive. Can't wait to hear about your next scan you guys.. Hope you are enjoying your second trimester.

@moonpeace welcome, so sorry you find yourself here, but you are in the right place, I can assure you. Keep us posted how you get on hun.

@KittyKatSmile how r you doing my dear... Hope you are enjoying the weather and getting ready for the protocol...
