Natural signs of ovulation?

Hi all!
I am on day 8 of my cycle. Don't want to start using ovulation sticks just yet just want to see if we can time it right Smile
What natural signs do you have when ovulating? I do get the pains on one sign but what does that actually mean? Is it too late to dtd by then?
Any advice appreciated 💕

Your cervical mucous changes from creamy to clear and egg white like when most fertile - it protects and preseves sperm and facilities it getting to the egg, the creamy stuff just kills the sperm off.

If you wanted to monitor your cycle more in future before using ovulation sticks you could use one of the apps in which you input your temperature each morning and it helps identify your fertile window

Good luck!!

There are distinct changes in the quantity and consistency of your cervical mucous (CM) during the different stages of your cycle.

After the period finishes, one's normally fairly 'dry', not much of anything to be seen. Towards ovulation, and a day or so afterwards, there's usually a noticeable amount of 'egg-white' cervical mucous: transparent, elastic, stretchy.

Once this kind of CM can no longer be observed, you should no longer be fertile. (You can have other types of discharge, yellow/green/'blobby'/creamy etc, at other phases of your cycle).

There is also a rise in your temperature about 12 hours before ovulation occurs (IIRC), but personally I just keep an eye on the CM. It's very clear for me.

There's loads on this on the internet, have a google.

I have polycystic ovaries so I get pain when I ovulate but normally only on my right side. I'm not sure I ovulate at all from the left. And like others say the egg white cervical mucous. I think it's normally around day 14 that most women would be expected to ovulate but this is not an exact science.

Thank you @danigrace @ChesterBelloc
I came off the pill in August, had a breakthrough bleed then a proper period.
The following month I had the pains but not really a noticeable difference in cm.
wonder if I didn't actually ovulate that month?
Does it take time for your eggs to wake up
and start being released again after being on the pill? If so how long ish???
I have googled but find here much more informative! Smile

Taking evening primrose oil supplements helps up your cervical mucous.
It can take around 3 months for the pill to get out of your system.
Make sure you're already taking your pregnancy vitamins too, it's best to start them when ttc if possible.
Enjoy DTD!!

@snowone from memory I think it was normally my right side too.
I really don't know much about PCOS?! Xx
