As the title states really, not the withdrawal bleed but I suppose the natural period!

I took my last pill on 31st August, had my withdrawal bleed 3rd-5th Sept, and now waiting for my first period which I would have expected this week but I have no idea with all the hormones!

I was on Microgynon for 16 years prior to stopping.

Anxiously waiting so we can start TTC! 😁

It took me about 3-4 months for mine to come back. I was on the pill for 15/16 years too.

For some people the periods come back straight away and it can take over a year for others. I had a friend who got pregnant without her periods actually coming back

Chanel05 · 03/10/2018 17:39

I was on the pill for 12 years and I had a 35 day cycle when I’d always had 28 days.

Justmuddlingalong · 03/10/2018 17:40

I never got a withdrawal bleed. Shock

Lemond1fficult · 03/10/2018 17:47

About 31 days after the withdrawal bleed - but it was so light, I would have missed it we're I not using the Natural Cycles app as contraception.

As you have a lower temperature from your period - ovulation, then it goes up between ovulation and your period, dropping back down on day 1 of your cycle.

I'm 9 months on, and still very light, but ovulating (I also use ovulation tests).

I came off after a similar time on it in July - first normal period was August, September and October have so far been clockwork.

Bonjour1234 · 03/10/2018 19:36

I came off a few weeks ago, had a withdrawal bleed and am patiently waiting for my first realy period to start!

Blueberry001 · 03/10/2018 20:03

Thanks everyone!

@wannabemum gosh that must have felt like a lifetime! Glad they came back for you after 3-4 months and not a year though.

@chanel05 I hope I’m similar, I’m on CD31 according to natural cycles but to be honest I’ve been pretty bad at temping at the same time so I need to get better at that so it’s more accurate!

I think it took about 4 weeks.

Floatingwhale · 04/10/2018 11:00

I was taking microgynon for about 3 years and unfortunately took just over a year for periods to return

MrsDash · 05/10/2018 06:26

Almost 4 months for me. I also had a break for the pill 6 years ago and it took 3 months that time. As has been mentioned already, it really varies from woman to woman.

Blueberry001 I have the almost exact same dates as you! Last pill on 31 Aug and then had withdrawal 4-7 Sept. I've been on the pill for 15 years (eek) so no clue what my body is doing just now. Still no sign of AF, however we were DTD in the hope of me falling pregnant right away (I know, how naive haha) but no AF and no positive tests yet...I guess I need to be patient! Good luck to you!

FrancesV83 · 05/10/2018 16:22

I finished taking cerelle (after 8 years) on the 2nd September, am currently having a bleed of sorts but it's not red blood just brown and not a lot (sorry for tmi!) I'm not sure if this is my withdrawal bleed or a possible implantation bleed as we've been actively ttc. Has anyone had anything similar?

overagain · 05/10/2018 22:46

28 days. No withdrawal bleed.

Blondemother · 06/10/2018 08:12

After mycrogynon it was 28 days after the start of withdrawal bleed.
After Cerazette I had no withdrawal bleed and a light period 27 days after stopping, reassuringly regular!

Stephisaur · 06/10/2018 14:50

I had my withdrawal bleed 4 days after stopping cerazette and then a ridiculously light period 26 days later.

My body got the pills out of my system really quickly as I was pregnant the cycle after that!

It really does vary from person to person though.
