Hi everyone, so me (24) and my other half (29) are going to start trying for a baby in January as we have a couple of things we would like to do first but I was wondering if any of you ladies have any advice on falling pregnant quickly please. I'm going to book a pre conception appointment with my gp and thinking of using the conceive plus lubricant from the start. How long did it take you to fall pregnant?

Thank you for your replies and sorry for the delay on mine. I'm finding all this very helpful and worrying less! Pastaallday I will log on to my computer shortly and see if there's any way of direct messaging!

I have another question.
I ovulated around 12th-13th according to my app it's usually right I took a ovulation test few days before that was negative but did have a faint line I then ran out of tests but was sure that I had ovulation symptoms around the expected time. Anyway me and my other half for carried away and didn't have my cap with me (I said I'd already ovulated so we was fine) this was on Saturday and then we did it again on Sunday because like I said I'd already ovulated but today I've got egg white stretchy discharge that from my knowledge is a sign of being fertile. I don't usually track my discharge very much is this normal?

Hey, sorry if this comes across as blunt but here I’ll go...

You’re both young and healthy, age 25 is when women reach their fertile peak. You’re the perfect breeding age so just try having sex and not worrying too much!

daisyrosegem · 19/09/2018 18:43

Girl, live a little. Travel the world. Enjoy your single, child-free life for a few more years. You have plenty of time for all this.

SurfingTheSouthWest · 19/09/2018 19:08

Daisyrosegem that's such a patronising thing to say

mkrsit · 19/09/2018 19:26

Thank you I will try not to worry and just go for it. I worry about everything though aha. Thanks but I'm not bothered about traveling and I've done all the partying I need to.

@mkrsit the mamas & papas Ocarro, £1099 for EVERYTHING inc car seat and base! Last time we had the iCandy what a waste of money that was.....

CountessVonBoobs · 24/09/2018 13:28

The truth is that if you are generally healthy and having regular sex through your cycle, the rest is pretty much out of your control. You'll hear lots of anecdotes about how people did X and got pregnant that month, but the chances are they would have got pregnant anyway, because the vast, vast majority of healthy people are going to get pregnant in a year as long as they have regular sex. As long as the sperm are in there at the right time, it's a game of chance and probability.

You can't micromanage this. Just have sex, have fun, and be prepared for it to take a while.

Someonekillbabyshark sorry for the late reply that's good for everything! We are casually trying now instead of waiting!!! :)

Hi! I am new to the forum, can I jump in?

I am 27 and we are also thinking about starting TTC at end of January. I would like to start trying sooner but I will get a better mat leave package if I am at my job 2 years before going on leave (April is my work anniversary) so we are waiting a bit. Still very excited though!

It’s been good to read all your advice. I have been on the pill a long time (about 8 years), should I come off it before we officially start TTC? Or does it not make much difference?

Trying2bemum · 01/10/2018 19:18

We started trying when I had just turned 32. Three years on and we still haven't conceived. Completely unexplained, completely heartbreaking. We've had two failed cycles of IVF too and starting our third next month.

ilooovechristmas · 01/10/2018 20:58

@PumpkinsMum18 I had the implant for 5 years and got pregnant first cycle so be careful if you do stop taking the pill ! Xx

ilooovechristmas · 01/10/2018 20:59

@Trying2bemum so sorry that it's been hard for you! Sending baby dust and hope it's 3rd time a charm ❤️

Trying2bemum · 01/10/2018 22:13

Thanks @ilooovechristmas xx

PumpkinsMum18 · 02/10/2018 07:29

@ilooovechristmas oh gosh! Bet that was a big suprise!

ilooovechristmas · 03/10/2018 12:21

@PumpkinsMum18 my DH head his head of a cupboard 😂 the nurse told me I'd be lucky if I was pregnant within the year as the hormones would stay for at least 6 months !!!
