Hey - long time lurker, first time poster.

Been married for over 2 years and we've decided we'd like to add to our family. No pressure on either of us, all I've done is come off the pill and I'm logging my periods with an app.

I've started taking folic acid but, is there anything else I need to do to get me in tip top shape?

We exercise regularly and I eat fairly well!

Smile thanks everyone

Just folic acid is all I believe is recommended from doctors.

If you wanna be extra good you could get the pre-pregnancy vitamins from pregnacare but I never did that so it's not needed.

Good luck! :)

Folic acid and vitamin d is what is recommended by doctors x

LatteLover12 · 27/08/2018 20:18

I’d recommend a pregnancy multivitamin too.

Good luck!

Thanks Guys. I'll treat my body to some pregnancy vitamins then. I saw them in the shop but I felt - hard to describe - like it was one step 'too real' (yeah, some multivitamins) imagine how I'm going to feel if I do get a BFP.... HmmGrin

Think I still feel like a youngster (I'm 30!!!😆)

I drank a fair bit of coffee so cut that down and got through a 3 day caffeine withdrawal headache before I got pregnant - glad I got it out the way, didn’t realise I would feel so ropey for those few days!

(You are totally young at 30 Wink)

MMKMN · 28/08/2018 12:33

Oh! Good shout. Id not thought of that. I drink about 300 a day!

I'll start cutting down today GrinBrew

Thanks! I'm really excited after years of not really knowing...!!

Conception vitamins for you both, cut down in coffee and booze and try and get BMI under 30 if you're currently above (that's the cut off for extra care where I am, might be different where you are I guess!)

MMKMN · 28/08/2018 14:03

Thanks @Emma765

BMI in healthy range and luckily my only vice is coffee. Have only had one today, and going to treat myself to some decaf hot drinks tonight for the long run change or I know I'll want to eat something if I don't have a hot drink!! Grin
