Nausea before AF due. Is this normal?

Can you ladies help me, please? Is it normal to feel sick before your period when you are NOT pregnant?
I have two kids and with both pregnancies I felt sick to the core from about 7dpo until AF was due. I am at 11dpo and have been feeling so sick for a few days and am starting to think I might be pregnant!! I did an early test at lunchtime and it was neg - is it too early to test?
I seem to remember reading somewhere that progesterone is higher after ovulation and that a lot of women get nausea every month before their period is due (when not pregnant). Do any of you have this?

Yes, I've had this for the last few months and have thought every month that I was pregnant! I've never had it before, but my cycles have only just settled down after ds ( 16 months) so I think it's just a new thing.
Weird, though, isn't it? My nausea was at the same time every day as well.

err.... not actually planned, if that's the way it turns out. Let's just say we took a bit of a risk at what I assumed to be the wrong time of the month.
I also keep getting hot flushes which I don't normally get....
Ooops.

Of course I've changed my name! I am feeling a bit silly at the moment. It's far too soon for another baby.

I didn't until ds2 came along. Now every month without fail I have an overwhelming urge to throw up.

...couldn't possibly....
Anyway, it looks like it's 50:50 - some people get it and some don't. I bet I'm not pregnant and it's something to do with a fairly recent baby boy as Coppertop says......

I certainly do since birth of ds. Worse than I ever had while pregnant.

nutcracker · 19/08/2004 20:53

Thats weid, i do get naysea before my periods since Ds was born.

I'm in the same state as you at the mo Sickasapig as I think i may be pregnant as I feel sick and very tired.
My AF isn't due for another 8/9 days so i'll just have to wait and see i suppose.

SickAsAPig · 19/08/2004 21:03

I'm due on Sunday - when can I test and get a fairly reliable result? Today I got a negative, 4 days before AF due..... Of course, might be a REAL negative!

I always get nausea late each afternoon post-ovln (keep hoping it's a sign of being pg but never is!)

You could well be pregnant as you have experienced this before.

I have never experienced this prior to AF until January this year - don't know what it was exactly but 1 week before due I would feel sick and then days before I was due I would be light headed and dizzy, the doctor put it down to my hormones and wasn't too worried.

It was irratating me however, so I started back on the pill and things have now calmed down.

I hope the outcome is what you are expecting, good luck

SickAsAPig · 22/08/2004 20:11

OK - so Sunday came and (almost) went and no sign of AF. I have a dull ache in my lower back which I have not had before. Anyone get this when pregnant?
