My husband and I are trying to conceive for the first time. We've been trying for about 3 months now. I've been doing ovulation stick testing and it doesn't show that I'm ovulating at all. Is there something wrong? Should I see the g.p? Thanks in advance

Are you testing once a day? It's easy to miss the surge so I test twice a day. Also do you temp? This could give you some comfort that you are ovulating ?

3 months is very very early days...GPs generally won't do anything until it's been a year (If you're under 35) or 6 months (over 35). It's extremely normal for it to take 6 months to a year to conceive so don't worry yet! A lot of things can affect opk results, and you also need to be testing a few times a day to catch the surge usually.

Thank you! I'm only testing once a day so I'll up it. Our concern is that my husband had blood cancer at 19 (he is 31 now and given the all clear) so we arent sure wherher we can definitley conceive or not and I think that's the worry

@MrsLev16 get your husband to call his GP & request a sperm analysis. Shouldn't be a problem you've only been trying a short while if the cancer treatment could have effected his sperm. It's very easy & simple, he can do the sample at home & just drop it off at the doctors/hospital depending where you are. (I dropped OH at work then dropped his swimmers to the hospital tucked in my bra Grin)
Are you using an app to track ovulation? If you know your last few cycles you can put that data in & they're often very accurate. Save you testing every day & concentrating on your fertile window.

I know 3 months isn't long but I also know the fear of something being wrong & wanting answers. Hopefully you'll get a BFP ovu test soon to put your mind at ease & hubbys sperm comes back all ok for you guys!
Also, look out for ovulation signs... almost always you will have an increase in egg white like mucus a day or 2 before you ovulate.

Good luck!!! Flowers

Also if you have any spare money you can both get privately tested. The Nuffield local to us does a basics couple package for £300 (includes sperm analysis) Might be worth it if the gp route takes a while.
Took us 7 months to fall pregnant the first time and now over a year ttc #2 so I do understand the worry but would echo other posters who said 3 months isn't that long really. Good luck!
