I have an 11 month old daughter, who is still drinking breast milk. Even though I exclusively breastfed, i had my first period exactly 4 weeks after I gave birth. At the minute, my daughter has 3 food meals a day with milk as an in-between if she gets hungry. She has milk every night before bed, in the middle of the night, and at about 4-5am. My periods have been very irregular for the past handful of months, presumably due to my breastfeeding hormones (it's quite weird I even have them at all, apparently), but they've never been late for more than 12 days. I attempt to track my periods by using a period tracker app, my period used to be every 28 days so the tracker uses that information. When it reaches the time my period is supposed to come, I know that it should come at least within the next 12 days. I just have to keep an eye out for pms symptoms. According to the tracker, I am now currently 21 days late for my period. I took a pregnancy test about a week ago I guess? And it came back negative, it was one of them cheap 99p twin pack ones. I haven't experienced any pms symptoms, apart from mood swings. I also have a creamy like discharge (a bit more than usual recently). Is there a way that I could be pregnant? Could breastfeeding hormones effect a pregnancy test resulting in it to come up as negative by masking the HCG hormone? We are TTC but we haven't really paid much attention to ovulation days because we don't know when that is because of irregular periods. Sorry about the long post.
