A bit worried :(

I’m cycle 1 TTC and currently 6 DPO. Around ovulation I got some pains, which I assumed would be ovulation pains, but I’m still getting mild cramping.

I’ve been thinking about it and it’s normal for me to have mild cramping right from ovulation up until I start my period. I’ve never really paid much attention to it before as it’s always been normal for me, but since TTC I’m much more ‘in tune’ with my body and have been reading that this doesn’t sound entirely normal? The pain isn’t bad, I don’t need painkillers, but I do get mild aches and twinges for a long time before AF arrives. I know cramping for a few days before AF is normal but mine seem to go on for a while?

This month it’s mostly in my back when it would usually be in my front, so that’s a little unusual. Does anyone else have cramps between ovulation and AF arriving? Did you eventually get a BFP? I’m starting to worry there could be something wrong and I’ve never realised until now.

Hi op, amazing how when you're trying you notice EVERYTHING! I got my bfp this cycle (now 9+5) and had cramps and backache from around 5dpo (it carried on until around 6 weeks pregnant).

Hopefully this means something good for you. Keep an eye on it and if in pain maybe speak to your doctor.

Good luck xx

I saw my Dr last week about just this and he said some women do get pain around ovulation that can last until period arrives.
He said as long as you are having regular periods that indicates your fertile. He said just to take pain killers if it's really bad and obviously when your not ttc you can go back on the pill and the pains will stop.

@Yakadee thanks so much! I’m trying not to get my hopes up because I’ve have these symptoms every cycle really... but haven’t noticed the lower back pain before! Yes you’re right about noticing every symptom, I had never really given my frequent cramps a thought until I started googling it and reading about it and I thought uh oh, is there something wrong with me?! Xx

@martinimonster thanks so much for that, it’s really helped put my mind at ease! The cramps definitely aren’t bad enough to need paracetamol (apart from first day of AF) but they’re definitely period pain type twinges xx

I was try first cycle last month and swore I was pregnant because I was getting lots of pains and twinges and convinced myself I felt sick etc and I got a bfn and wouldn't believe it but then af arrived. I'm going to try and relax this time round, not going to be taking tests unless I miss a period and going to ignore all the little twinges.

@Martinimonster It’s all a bit mentally draining isn’t it?! I’m not getting my hopes up that the twinges are any sort of symptom because I would usually get these anyway. So hard not to symptom spot though :( good luck for the next month, I really hope it’s your month! X

What you describe sounds very similar to me before I got my BFP.
I would have mild cramps for up to 6 days before AF.

The cramps were one of the things that made me wonder if I might be pregnant though.
The cramps seemed to have started earlier and felt more intense.

I was absolutely convinced AF was on its way, because I always got a kind of warm spreading feeling in my stomach when due, but I got my BFP on day 1 of missed period.

PrettyWisdomous · 08/07/2018 03:08

@Charlotte1x I got an intense shooting pain in my uteris/cervix/vagina four days before my BFP, but no cramps or anything else that I can remember.

A word of advice... Don't Google things! Dr Google is evil. Pregnancy is stressful enough without googling everything and driving yourself mad with worry that something is wrong.
