5 weeks late, slipped coil, negative HPTs!

Hi ladies, hoping writing this out will help. I feel like I'm going a bit mad! I'm 30, no children, currently using the copper coil.

I am now 5 weeks late, but didn't really worry as I have the coil. First 3 weeks after missed period I had constant egg white/brown discharge and I kept expecting my period and it never happened.

I had noticed feeling suddenly exhausted, a 'full' feeling and being able to eat less and I then discovered that I could feel the tip of my coil! I did 3 HPTs over the course of the week or so after - various ones including early detection - all negative.

The full feeling and tiredness has only gotten worse, I feel like I'm constantly trying to hold in a little pot belly! And I get full so quicky when I'm eating now. I have never been or felt pregnant before, but I feel like I absolutely know I am, which is why I'm so confused by the tests. I've never been really maternal but right now I feel hyper aware of babies and children.

I have been prev diagnosed with PCOS and hormone imbalances so I don't know if these would affect the hcg?

I've been to see the nurse who has confirmed the coil is out of place, TMI but there was so much mucous she had trouble locating it at first, is this the mucous plug? Or am I just getting symptoms from my coil being out of place.

I'm booked in for an urgent scan (can take up to 6 weeks!) which should tell me either way but I'm getting more anxious the longer it goes on.

Anyone any ideas?

It could just be the pcos. It's quite unlikely to get pregnant on a given cycle when ttc (20-25% chance per cycle). Getting negative tests more than two weeks after unprotected sex means you are unlikely to be pregnant.

The mucus plug tends to develop much later in pregnancy...

Thanks for your reply, that's helped a bit.

I know it's unlikely but have been reading about multiple women whose HPTs reading negative until 10 weeks or more so was a bit worried as I still have the coil in currently (until the scan reveals exactly where it's sitting so it can be removed).

I've been regular with AF since coming off the pill a few years ago and my av cycle is 28 days... Currently on day 64. Haven't had my bloods done for a few years and last time I did my prolactin and testosterone were both high so maybe I should have them rechecked as well.

High prolactin can prevent ovulation. Delayed ovulation would delay your period as the time between ovulation and the start of af is generally the same.

Thanks physicskate. I was told that at the time as I was having very irregular AF back then. I've been regular for a long time now but who knows! Maybe it's those pesky hormones again and everything I'm feeling and the slipped coil is just a coincidence
