Hiya I’m new here and I’m looking for advice. Me and DH have a 10 month old baby boy and now we would love to see a BFP again. I’m looking for advice as I’m so confused and beginning to get stressed out. So here’s the situation:
I came off of the pill between the end of Jan and start of feb, I know that means we haven’t been ttc for very long but I’m starting to wonder if I’ll be able to conceive again. Around 3/4 years ago I was diagnosed with PCOS and was told it could affect my fertility, which made me believe I wouldn’t be able to get pregnant, it was this time that they prescribed me to pill and it helped to regulate my periods. But when I first met my dh i wasn’t on contraception as I wasn’t active and I did get pregnant almost immediately, within the early months of our relationship(this was accidental) but sadly that ended in a miscarriage and convinced me even more that I wouldn’t be able to have a baby. But I began taking contraceptives again, until after about a year we decided to deliberately ttc and fell pregnant with DS and it was a smooth one thankfully 😌
But here’s the problem: since I came off my contraception and we decided it would be a good time to try again for #2 my periods have been so messed up, I’m trying my best to keep track of my cycle which is usually around 35 days long and ovulation, but the past 2 months have been odd and disheartening. Last month I missed my period and first tested on day 1 as I can usually predict them, but got negative, so I waited a few days and at 4 days late took another test but got bfn :( my period came 2 days later; then this month I’m on day 2 right now, have taken a test this morning and again got a bfn.
Am I testing to early? Is there something wrong and should I go gp? I’m concerned and I don’t know how to deal with this, it’s as if my body is playing tricks on me. Can anyone help?
P.s sorry for long post but would really appreciate some advice or to hear from someone who’s been in the same sort of place. Thanks

@Verapolly it sounds like your cycles have simply got longer. How many days was your first cycle? Even without PCOS cycles can go out of whack after coming off the pill. Having said that you're coming up to six months so it might be worth a call to your doc just to check the PCOS situation and see if they can run some tests to make there's nothing that needs clearing out. In the mean run there are a lot of ladies on here who take supplements to regulate their cycles so Worth looking into that.

Have you tried tracking ovulation? Either by natural signs like cervical mucus and cervical position or by tracking your basal body temperature and/ or using opks? Generally people ovulate about 2 weeks before af, so it might be you need to keep a close eye on things to find out when/ if you ovulate.

Opks can be very hit and miss with pcos. What is your weight situation? PCOS is definitely aggrevated by being only moderately overweight. Even losing 5% of your weight can help to regulate cycles and make a huge difference for fertility.

I would suggest you use one of the fertility apps because you can record lots of things daily that you would otherwise forget. Some people don't get regular periods for some time after coming off the pill. I would try not to worry because you've had one child who is still relatively young so you know your body is able.

Are you still breastfeeding? This could affect things.

You could try taking Agnus Castus which may kick start your ovulation but I believe you should be cautious about this one if you have PCOS.

@physicskate I don’t know much about natural fertility or ovulation tracking, I have used ovulation and fertility calculators etc and I’m closer to underweight if anything and have never been overweight in my life. @HitCat my period has probably gone from around 33 to 34/5 days, but they’ve always varied somewhat and Where can I find these supplements ?
Do you have any fertility apps you could recommend @OutofTyme ?
Thank you for all your response x

@Verapolly I've heard people recommend Angus Castus and Maca. May need a little reading to make sure they're right for you but worth a try.

I recommend Clue and Ovia but a lot of TTCers on MN like fertility friend.

You can get Agnus Castus on Amazon and other supplements.
