AF due today and haven't been feeling any of my usual signs. Bought a cheap test from Tesco which is a brand I've never used before so can someone confirm the accuracy of this test?

Im absolutely overjoyed BUT I'm freaking out... my DD is only 5 months old. How am I going to cope???????

Looks like it, congratulations!

I found out I was pregnant again when ds was 7 months old and we did panic, morning sickness and latter stages of pregnancy with a toddler were tough I won't lie.

However Ds2 is now 3 weeks old and so far whilst it's tiring with both of them as we figure out our new routine it's so lovely having a newborn again we are besotted with both of them now, and I've heard it's easier having them closer in age as they get older. I'm hoping this is true!

Yes you are most certainly pregnant. Congratulations!! Your bound to be in shock, don’t worry, I’m 28 weeks now and mine was a big surprise but it didn’t take long to get excited again!!

hamburgers · 11/06/2018 12:38

Thank you!

I'm in total shock and I can't stop shaking. It took us many many months to conceive DD so I had no idea it could happen this quickly once my period had returned after I stopped breastfeeding Shock

Don't know how I'm going to tell DH. I know he'll be thrilled but also very anxious

Probably, but I wouldn't trust a blue dye test. Get a first response (anytime today) or maybe even a digital for tomorrow morning.

Also congratulations on your new baby @elmo1980
And congratulations on your pregnancy @Ellasshitholekitchenpjpiigp !!

That Tesco’s test was the same one I did back in December and I asked the same question on Mumsnet as I had thrown the box. When I told my DH and his reaction was “f**k off” 😂 he was a bit shocked though!

hamburgers · 11/06/2018 13:09

@Ellasshitholekitchenpjpiigp 😂😂😂
I don't know how I'm going to break the news to DH. I think maybe tell him on Fathers Day on Sunday?

Congratulations! Can I ask as I am a newbie, what is DD, DS and DH. I gather you’re talking about daughters, sons and husbands but what’s with the first D?

Iputthescrewinthetuna · 11/06/2018 13:30

Congratulations!
@Saraelle The 'D' stands for Dear/Darling

Frenchiemamax · 11/06/2018 13:36

Eeeeeek congrats OP!

This exact thing happened to us. We’ve got a 15 month gap and it’s really lovely. Prepare for people to constantly tell you how hard life will be. I’ve loved it. Congratulations!

hamburgers · 11/06/2018 13:46

Thank you so much for saying that @user2085372673 ! I know it's very early days, but part of me is excited about having two DC close in age, the other part of me is terrified of having 2 under 2!

You'll be fine... :) I had two in 13m..and then 12 months later a third!!!
It was great... (barring pushing a double buggy for years, with a sling at first for the tiniest one) ..they all did toddler group, followed each other to nursery, copied each other toilet training!

In many ways it is far easier than a gap!

Gemsie1984 · 11/06/2018 17:36

14 month age gap between mine! It's difficult to begin with but gets easier 🤗 congratulations x

stuckficks · 11/06/2018 17:50

16 month age gap between mine. No2 is approaching 3 months now and it's definitely getting easier! Won't lie the late stages of pregnancy with a toddler and the early newborn phase are tough but you'll get through it day by day.
Congrats, wishing you a healthy and happy pregnancy!

NoWordForFluffy · 11/06/2018 17:54

13 month gap here. It's great really, even if tough at times.

DS goes to school this year, DD went last year, so that's both of them in school and there really is light at the end of the tunnel!

They do fight a bit, but also do love each other and can play nicely for hours quite often really. And you never have to decide which activity to do which doesn't quite suit one of them, as they into the same stuff enough for it to be of interest to both!

Rattyzilla · 11/06/2018 17:56

Awww how lovely! Congratulations.

LemonysSnicket · 11/06/2018 18:47

What a wonderful age gap for when they're older!!!

I'm 3 years younger than DSis and we are best friends but it sometimes makes her sad that we're at slightly different life stages ( 23&26). Would be lovely to be talking uni, children, weddings at a similar time!

hamburgers · 11/06/2018 19:00

Thanks everyone! DH on his way home and I'll tell him the news.
I'm so worried I'm not going to cope so it's nice to hear from others with small age gaps!
