Hello everyone. Was wondering if anyone could help me out I had my coil taken out on the 11th May and I am desperately trying to conceive. I would love to be pregnant again but I think it might be wishful thinking😔 I haven't had a period yet either and I don't think it's possible to fall pregnant without having a period.
Could someone give me some advice on this. If I'm just wishful thinking or not...

I'm hoping not🤞

I think it's probably too soon to get your period. I would give it up to 3 months for your cycles to settle back into place.
No harm in keeping trying but might not fall pregnant until after your period.

Hi! I had my Coil out on the 28th March not long after my period. We DTD during my ovulation and I got my BFP ON 11th April! I'm aware this is crazy fast and I was well prepared for taking a while to conceive. I had the copper coil with no hormones so I didn't have to wait for my cycles to get back to normal.

Which coil did you have?

You ovulate before a period, so it's possible to get pregnant before your period comes, though it's more likely it'll take a while.

Did you have a copper coil or the Mirena? Copper coil isn't a hormonal contraceptive so your periods should go back to normal fairly quickly.

I had the Mirena removed at the end of January, had my first proper period about three weeks later and was pretty regular after that. I conceived at the beginning of May, although we had only started trying at the beginning of April so not sure how long it would have taken otherwise.

I had the copper coil with no hormones and the doctor did say to me that everything should go back to normal. But I didn't know how soon it could happen as I have started trying. I'm just hoping it not too early

I was very surprised at how quickly we conceived! Didn't even have my next period!

If it's too soon for you maybe take extra precautions just in case x

I'm hoping I fall pretty quickly as I've got a daughter who's nearly 3 and keeps asking for brother or sister. I was just too scared too get the coil taken out as it was stuck. So hopefully i am going too fall quickly. How long did it take you?

2 weeks from getting coil removed to getting BFP! Still in shock Grin

Good luck but be prepared for the wait just in case it takes a while, it's also worth starting your pregnancy vits x

For balance, I had my coil put in Nov '15 and I'm still not pregnant.

Your cycle should be fairly unaffected, so I'd go by when you would have been due on the coil. You generally ovulate two-ish weeks before af. If you had the coil out during those two weeks, out would have missed this cycle's ovulation. If the coil came out before ovulation, you could get pregnant this cycle. 20-25% chance each cycle.

The only thing is I would only be like a week if I was , but feel so weird in myself I had the coil out 11th and didn't do anything until the 23rd... I have had some weird twinges but that could just be my body getting used too not having the coil I suppose.

I shall have to wait and see if anything I'm due in 4 days so I'll do a test then if I have no period
