I've done enough pregnancy tests in the last 7 years to know.. but I can't talk to anyone except my husband about this.

How long do the pregnancy hormones last after having a baby?
As in, how soon after having a baby can you get pregnant?

It's far from a "definate line" there is barely anything there!

Get a test that says "pregnant" or "not pregnant" - I find these other ones with lines always give a heart attack moment and you spend hours looking for a line.

My sister had a very faint line about 6 weeks after giving birth. She wasn’t pregnant though so it must have just been left over hormones from giving birth. Test again at the weekend and see if it’s darker, and if it is then get a blood test just to be 100% sure. If it’s still as faint as that by the weekend then it will just be the old pregnancy hormones

I took the test because I had my appointment to get an appointment booked to get the implant so I wanted to check.

Annoyingly, I checked after. But I have my 6 week check next week so will mention it to her.

I did retest this morning because I couldn't wait until the weekend (though I will check again next week, just to be sure!)

This morning looked like a negative!
I hope it stays that way.

I didnt think it was a positive test.

Plus the unlikely hood of not ‘finishing’ inside you and having a EBF 5 week old baby.
It’s just not gonna happen.

That looks like a firm not pregnant to me unless I am missing something!

Nearly the weekend where I'll test again.

My theory is, if it gets lighter or disappears then it's hcg levels. If it's darker then I will need to speak to my GP.

I'm seeing her Thursday so will mention it anyway and see what she suggests.

Test again next week and see if the line is still there or if it's stronger. With 3 children, one new born, you have enough to be thinking and worrying about, don't add to your stress when you're not 100%. I'd be inclined to assume it is left over from your 5 wk old until you have reason to think otherwise. Keep us updated x

It's half term next week so I will be distracted from having to think about it by the older two!

I tested again just now, still two lines but i looks lighter!

Lighter is much better than darker!!

Nearly 4 weeks since we first had sex.
Nearly 3 weeks since we did again and I had the morning after pill.

I'm not feeling anywhere near as scared now.

You need to get a doctors appointment I think and have a blood test. You had the morning after pill so if you were already pregnant I'm not sure if that would do any damage or not just worth checking in case you are and eventually decided you wanted to keep him/her xx

You will know within 3 days then if your pregnant or not because they would see a decrease in hcg x

I came back to say I don't have any news.. but I just saw my last comment and the GP appointment is Thursday!
