First response early test

I am puzzled why people think that the 1st response early test is more sensitive than a Clearblue digital test with weeks indicator? I used a first response test at 8dpo and did not get even an imaginary squinter. The following day at 9dpo I got the faintest line on a first response early test and a pregnant 1-2 on a Clear blue Digi. I felt much more satisfaction at seeing the word pregnant than having to squint at a very faint line. Has anyone else had a different experience?

I agree that seeing it in writing is far more helpful. I think its to do with the levels of the pregnancy hormone that can be detected; frer tests can detect a amaller amount. I would always do a frer if it was before my period was due but if i was late, or got an uncertain response, then a digital gives a nice, clear answer. :)

Nope FRERs are more sensitive. I got a clear bfp on 10dpo but my Cb digital said not pregnant. It did turn to pregnant the following day though!

Did you definitely use the Early Response version rather than the Rapid Response version?

Their sensitivities are wildly different, but the 2 can get confused.

The tests pick up completely different HCG levels. Clearblue Digital 50 mIU/mL and First Response early detection 6.3 mIU/mL. As previous poster pointed out the First Response rapid result is not as sensitive.
