Hey all, so last month I turned 40 and was made redundant. I was hoping to finally get pregnant last sept after I got wed but never happened abs still been trying, next month I’m due to have stimulated iui at private clinic to which I’m excited but it’s kind of like Russian roulette as im interviewing for couple of perm jobs, interviewing process takes so long and I’m not sure what to do if I get pregnant miraculously. If I’m pregnant whilst interviewing do I tell them but no guarantee I’ll get pregnant or baby will stick.

I’m temping at mo but would really prefer perm job for stability but also mat leave.

I don’t want to put my life on hold for something that might not happen, takes lot longer (especially if I go ivf route). Feel all over shop

No, don't tell them. You're ttc, you're not pregnant, and even when you are, you don't need to tell them until 15 weeks before your due date.

It's pretty horrible having to tell your employer you've miscarried, so I would recommend not being in too much of a rush to let them know anyway, legal stuff aside. Hopefully you will never need to think about that, but it's my lesson learned!

Don’t tell anyone. Society these days doesn’t expect you to ‘demote’ yourself for ttc, thankfully, although those views are still around. I have two colleagues in my workplace who both had to announce pregnancies when they started their jobs. They are both well worth it, great colleagues, great at their jobs. Businesses have to cover this contingency just as they have to cover illness.

Defo don't tell them. You want to be offered a job on your skills and what you bring to the company. Telling them that you might not be sticking around will interfere in their selection process.

Thanks for your replies. I’ll just carry on bau as goal is to have baby. Shane it hasn’t quite worked out to my plan but not much I can do.
