Longest wait for BFP?

Hiya, I’m currently CD60, 35DPO and still BFN. I went to the drs last Thurs and they just told me to wait another week or so and retest, she seemed to think I am pregnant, but didn’t talk about getting bloods done or anything.
So my first concern is that IF I am pg, I really should be having scans soon shouldn’t I?
And if I’m not, what the hell is going on!

I’d O’d on 20th March (according to home test, I guess that could have wrong, but still)

Anyone been in the same boat or know anyone with similar experience?

TIA x

I’m not quite as far as you but I’m currently CD40 and 19 days past ovulation. Only getting negative tests! Has this happened to you before? Are your cycles normally quite regular? Mine are normally around 34 days total so I don’t know what’s going on!

I've had positive ovulation tests but not ovulated. So my body gears up, I get an LH surge but don't release an egg. My anovulatory cycles are usually longer than cycles when I ovulate. I eventually get breakthrough bleeding which for me is like a lighter period. I have PCOS so it's a fairly regular occurrence for me but most women will have an anovulatory cycle at some point. Maybe that's what's happening?

Celebelly · 24/04/2018 08:55

It could just be anovulatory cycle - they're not uncommon. At so much dpo, you would be getting positive tests by now if you were pregnant. Your body might just have skipped ovulation for a month.

Doctors generally won't do blood tests just to check for pregnancy if urine tests are negative. But if your period doesn't show up in a few weeks, they might run some to see if there are any other problems causing the delay in ovulation.

If you have a BFN then its highly unlikely you’re pregnant. Occasionally even the most regular person skips a period. Also if you’re sure if ovulation then you couldn’t be pregnant because if you were it would be showing up by now on a test, your luteal (post ovulation phase) phase cannot be more or less than a certain length approx 10-18 days in order for a pregnancy to actually occur....certainly 35 days is not possible. You may have ovulated again already in that period though. So basically don’t worry about scans etc. If you are pregnant it is very recently but with BFN’s, I’d believe them till you have different information.

Claire90ftm · 24/04/2018 09:37

You wouldn't be having a scan until you're 12 weeks. They only do it earlier if you don't know when the first day of your last period was. And as a PP said, I really doubt that you're pregnant if you're still getting BFN's. There are many things which can cause someone to skip a period.

Thanks for all your input.
I guess I’ll just write this cycle off and hope AF comes soon so I can get back in track

Stellarfox, my normal cycle length is 38-42 days long, never had this before, hope you get some news very soon, I’m very impatient and this is driving me crazy!!!

You could always go have a blood test done privately to see if there's any hCG in your bloods. I did this to confirm my pregnancy. I went to a place on Wimpole St in London.
