Private consultation- worth it?

I’ve been ttc for 15 months now. In that time I’ve had a chemical pregnancy and 2 missed miscarriages. Last MMC was the start of Jan, and I’ve only had one period since, 6 weeks ago. I’m 41 and feel so frustrated with time passing. Is it worth me looking into a private consulatation for some testing? I know that I would only be referred to the NHS recurrent miscarriage clinic after 3 miscarriages. It might have just been bad luck so far, but I feel I should be more proactive with this. My body seems to take so long to get back to normal after a miscarriage. Would really appreciate anyone’s thoughts or experiences with this.

Have you been to your GP? After 35, they should see you within 6 months on TTC and run tests ( blood tests, ultrasound, sperm analysis)

Thank you. I did see my gp after the first MMC as my cycles were weird, but she just said that it would take a while for my body to return to normal.... and then I got pregnant again. I’ll make an appointment. Thank you so much for your reply.

Chemical pregnancies count. So you probably should be referred to rmc. But it might just be bad luck...

When I had an MVA following my last MMC I spoke to the doctor about that, but she said it didn’t count. Think it might be time for me to be a bit more “pushy” with asking for a referral, in the nicest possible way of course. I have been pretty positive about the whole TTC process so far, but I think it’s starting to get me down a bit now. Doesn’t help with lots of people at work announcing pregnancies recently.

Has anyone in a similar position to me had an NHS referral that was useful?

I've had two chemicals and was told by a very useless gp that they count. While I was going through it, he had the gall to say 'have another miscarriage and we'll run some tests' while I was still bleeding...

I told my new gp (who is awesome) and she teared up.
