Hi all,

This is probably my 100th Clomid related post but I am FED UP!

On my 2WW of round 5!!! 50mg and ovulated every month - no bfp!

All tests for DH and I are fine, starting IVF soon but I had hope for this month!

My ovary pain/cramps has kicked in again, I get this every Clomid cycle until AF!!! Did anyone else get this?? Does it mean I’m out this month because I have the exact same 2WW symptoms as all 4 BFN rounds?

Please give me your symptoms n Clomid ladies!!! I’m going mad here!!

P.s I’m 5dpo

Clomid is tough... all the process being timed becomes too much to handle and you are not able to think of anything else... really draining. I am on my third cycle which I don't think is going to work and then will go to IVF too. Are you doing it via NHS or are you going private?

physicskate · 16/04/2018 09:07

I finished clomid cycle 6. I had a major breakdown at the end of cycle 4. I was signed off work and then quit. Also started a low dose of antidepressants, which I think has helped. It was that bad.

I think it was realising that we might actually have to go through ivf which completely freaked me. That and how I would handle work with it.

Headed for ivf in either may or June now. It's ok actually because so much is out of my control. I haven't done anything wrong, it's just one of those things. Accept the things we cannot change. It's made me much more relaxed. I'm tryouts big to take each day as it comes.

Yes. Clomid is a massive headfuck. You think, yay now I can get pregnant. But it's still down to a bit of luck.

Emily100889 · 16/04/2018 15:49

I doing IVF via the NHS.

We are hoping to start next month. We get two funded cycles.

I really thought Clomid would work! Especially as I ovulate each time!

Do you ladies get 2 week wait symptoms after you ovulate on Clomid?

OP posts:
physicskate · 16/04/2018 16:10

I had the worst pms ever. And most cycles sore boobs, which was very unusual. I'm hoping to start ivf next cycle too... this was my first cycle off clomid since September. I thought it would work too as I had irregular cycles and polycystic ovaries (but not pcos).

Emily100889 · 16/04/2018 16:44

Have you ever had a bfp physicskate?

I haven’t - in all three years of trying!

Did you ovulate each month on Clomid?

Are you IVF NHS too??

This is ten years ago now, but in case it helps, I just wanted to say that I did 6 cycles of clomid at 50mg, appeared to be ovulating, and I was exactly where you are after cycle 5 - I decided it obviously wasn't going to work, and mentally moved on to planning and preparing for IVF.
Nothing felt any different during the 6th cycle until the very end of the two week wait, but I got my BFP and he's sitting next to me now playing Minecraft. Kate is right, there's still a luck element even if you're ovulating, don't write it off just yet. Good luck to all 3 of you.

physicskate · 16/04/2018 17:45

I've had two chemicals. July '16 and March '17. We get one round on nhs and then I'm planning up to two more private rounds.

valafitz · 16/04/2018 19:00

I he a chemical too. It was devastating.

I'm going private for IVF as it feels its going to take a long time to get there with the NHS .

We did all the tests at the beginning of the moth and will start with it as soon as we get the results... can't wait for the real thing to happen !

Fingers crossed ladies!

physicskate · 16/04/2018 19:20

We went to our first fertility clinic at the beginning of July last year. Clomid started sept/ Oct. and now ivf will start either may or mid-June. Short protocol so start with af, but if I go back to my cycles it's anywhere 28-39 days... so a tad unpredictable.

Emily100889 · 16/04/2018 20:06

Puddock, did you feel the same in the TWW the round you conceived?
What were your early symptoms?

I have the same symptoms every single Clomid round - that’s why I’m scared I’m out this month again.

Our NHS IVF has happened quickly. Our funding went in three weeks ago, was accepted 5 days later and have our first appointment on Wednesday!
I’m just secretly hoping I’m preggo and won’t have to actually go through with it 😬

Physicskate you can always ask for some natural progesterone tablets to induce your period. I have very irregular periods due to PCOS and for clomid I've had to use them a couple of times. They may even give you contraceptive pills to begin with. Best of luck!

TaurielTest · 17/04/2018 09:37

Honestly, symptoms during the 2WW were indistinguishable from premenstrual type symptoms (and believe me, I was symptom-spotting with the best of them). The first thing that was different and made me go 'hmm' was noticing that I was weeing more frequently, but that was 12 or 13 dpo. I suppose what I'm saying is, you might be out and you might not, each cycle is a roll of the dice to some extent. Fingers crossed!

Mama05070704 · 17/04/2018 09:50

I did 10 rounds of Clomid and 2 rounds of IVF. For me, Clomid was harder - I had horrendous side effects!

Like you, I ovulated each cycle but never got a BFP in the 10 months of being on it (or the 3 years of ttc prior to that).

I did go on to get BFPs with both rounds of IVF, although I had a missed miscarriage after my first round. It turned out that I have severe endometriosis on top of the PCOS that was preventing me ovulating, which in my case explained why the Clomid alone wasn’t enough.

When my DS was born, I was told I had 0% chance of conceiving without IVF as my organs are so damaged. My IVF baby is now 2 and I also have a 1 year old, who was conceived naturally Smile

Kat1389 · 17/04/2018 23:13

HI there
I've been trying to conceiving for a year and a bit and start seeing the Fertility Specialist since January, I done all the test and everything was all good, I am on clomid at the moment and this is my second month I want to know if Should I continue or should I consider IVF? Please help!!!!

Emily100889 · 18/04/2018 06:51

Hi Kat,

I have done 5 rounds of Clomid and am now moving to IVF.

I personally think you need to do at least 4 rounds to give it a chance. IVF after all is kinda the end of the road option so I felt I had to give everything else a chance first.

I have been trying for 3 years and never had a positive. Nothing wrong with husband or I which makes it worse really!

How are you finding Clomid? Are you ovulating?

Kat1389 · 18/04/2018 07:07

Thanks Emily for getting back to me :)
i dont want to waste more money and time thats why i am considering IVF, which DR are you using? I did all the test and everything has come back all clear?

physicskate · 18/04/2018 09:38

Kat are you nhs? Most ccg say you should be trying for two or more years. You have a 50% chance of conceiving in the second year of ttc.

Ivf is very dramatic. Give it more time.

Kat1389 · 18/04/2018 10:29

Thanks hun I am seeing Dr Alex Skander in Bundoora and this is my second month, clomid has made ovulate which been told my him that I had two ferticles but I have to wait this week to see if I am pregnant or not, I am positive that I am not because I can feel my period coming soon which sucks 😭

Kat1389 · 18/04/2018 10:30

What is NHS hun?

physicskate · 18/04/2018 16:27

Ah. This website is predominantly used by women (and a few men) in the uk, where we probably have a very very different health care system from where you seem to be?

Kat1389 · 18/04/2018 22:23

I am in Australia hun 🙂
