Was at doctors for another reason and they mentioned that missed period is probably due to stress. Prior to this my periods have been very regular at 35 days for at least 3 years. I have done tests just to make sure.

Should we just start trying again? Will I still be able to get pregnant if it's just one missed through stress? I had an Lh surge on day 21, which I thought meant I have ovulated. The past 3 months of trying I have had periods but no surge.

I've never missed a period through stress before (and I've been much more stressed than this!) I did however stop having periods 9 years ago for two years and that's when I was diagnosed with a prolactinoma. I'm worried it's that, but my next appointment with consultant isn't for three months!

It's not that unusual to have a blip. Anovulatory cycles are common... the gp can give you drugs to start a bleed, but they generally don't do that until you've missed a second period.

Unfortunately, lh surges don't always lead to ovulation.

All of this may or may not be down to stess, but is quite normal.

I never missed a period until I started trying to conceive. Then one month ... no period! You may still ovulate but late so I'd say keep trying. Best thing to do is to start charting your basal body temperature and that will tell you if you actually do ovulate and when. LH can tell you if you are about to but temp rather will confirm if you did
