I'm sorry if this is a stupid question, it is my first cycle of tracking like this!

I started testing on LH sticks about a week ago. They had lines in the test zone but definitely not as dark as the control zone.

Three days ago I had a positive result. And again yesterday. And again today.

Is this normal? I'm really worried there is something wrong with me. I had an odd cycle last time in that I only had one day of spotting rather than a proper period... I'm convincing myself there is something wrong when I don't know if more than one positive day is normal?

I read on the internet about people having to test multiple times to catch the peak... So is there something wrong with me?

We are BD anyway in the hope it is ovulation and not just my body having a meltdown... But I am quite worried :(

Have you done a pregnancy test?

HidCat · 07/04/2018 11:58

That's definitely a positive opk @JustLikeTheySaid. Hope the timing was just right for you!

JustLikeTheySaid · 07/04/2018 12:21

Yes. About 100 pregnancy tests! Not since Tuesday but my period was due (And I had some spotting) on the 20th March - so I would be very obviously testing positive by now!

Just concerned that my LH appears to be so high for so long. I'm worried there might be something wrong with me!

@JustLikeTheySaid our bodies don't always perform to schedule, some people have long peaks, others very short ones and some have multiple peaks in a month, including when they are on their period. A peak on an OPK doesn't guarantee ovulation, it's a guide. Tracking your Basal Body Temperature is generally regarded as the most accurate way to track ov but it's not feasible for everyone (me included). Do you track your cervical mucus or any other symptoms?

Bubblegum89 · 07/04/2018 13:36

I more often than not have a positive opk for 2-3 days. Some surges last longer than others. Sometimes you can miss it completely. With a surge lasting a few days, you have likely caught it as your LH is rising AND coming down. Nothing to worry about at all

JustLikeTheySaid · 07/04/2018 16:26

Thank you for the reassurance! Cake for you all.

I do track cervical mucus and usually get very noticeable EWCM but this month I have only had a teeny tiny amount today. I don't really want to get into body temp checking because I'm already obsessed enough as it is! But if I don't fall pregnant in a month or two then I will try maybe.

I was just so worried to have so many days!

Thank you! Day 4 positive here today (And took a pregnancy test which was negative) but it is definitely weaker so I must be coming down the other side I think!

My surge usually lasts three days or so. I ovulate the day after the first positive, as confirmed by BBT.

JustLikeTheySaid · 08/04/2018 20:50

Brilliant - that is really helpful and reassuring, thank you!
