Accuracy of one step tests?

Hi all,

I have seen a lot of threads where ladies have been getting BFN's using the cheap amazon type one step tests at say maybe 8/9/10DPO and longer but get a BFP with a FR early detection? I thought they both were the same level of hCG detection? Anybody experienced this? I'm actually only 9DPO but getting a bit disheartened. I bought a first response and wanted to keep it for when I actually got a BFP on the one step test as didn't want to 'waste it' so to speak!

They're not that sensitive in my experience. My FRER was blazing positive with the test line darker than the control at 15dpo and the One Step test line was only only half as dark as the control line

I do think their ovulation tests are good though

They are as sensitive, but the dye isn't as strong and they aren't as reliable. But at 10 for £3.50 what can you expect!

I got a vvvv faint line on them 9dpo, so faint that it could of been missed. It was more obvious on the frer I took straight after. It was definitely a good line by the time period was due.
