Bleeding and ovulation after stopping birth control

Hi,

I have a couple of questions I would really like some help with please 🙂 I missed a couple of my birth control pills (Yasmin) around 5th and 6th February and had a withdrawal bleed for a few days, the flow went really light on the third day, same for the fourth and got heavier for another few days (I presume the second bleed was my period). Since then I haven’t gone back on the pill as we have decided to try and conceive. I have been having a massive amount of pregnancy symptoms (tiredness, feeling tired all the time, electric shock type pains, cramps) but noted that my cervical mucus has been consistently slightly white but not thick or sticky and my uterus is still high and firm. My period arrived on Sunday and has today got a lot lighter, although my cervix is still very soft and high. Would I have been able to have my period without ovulating or will I ovulate for the first time (since coming off Yasmin) in around 10 (ish) days?

Sorry for the long post!

Everyone is different. Some people go right into a normal cycle, where 14 days after ovulation af arrives. Other people have a few anovulatory cycles. Others don't get af for a year!

Time will tell. Keep checking cervical mucus and you might try using opks.

Thanks for your reply, I guess it’s a waiting game but I’m not the most patient person in the world! Fingers crossed for this month, I suppose it’s a good thing I have had one full period so I quickly after stopping the pill so at least I know where I am on my cycle! With an anovulatory cycle are there any differences I could spot or is the only way to tell by using an opk?

Anovulatory cycles usually lead to a period that might be 'different' (lighter, browner, longer, shorter). You might get negative opks on a cycle where you did ovulate if you miss the surge in lh, which sometimes lasts only a few hours.
