Just a quick question ladies, if I'm unable to take temp at the same time every morning, is it worth me charting?

I work shifts which make this damn near impossible, so means sometimes I'll have been up for ages before testing which I realise affects results! Looking for advice before I waste my time!

All the guidance I've see says that you need to take it within two hours of a regular time, after at least four hours solid sleep and immediately on waking up - so before even sitting up preferably- just reach over and grab the thermometer while lying down.

Otherwise the data just isn't going to be accurate.

So it doesn't sound like the best option for you if you want to use it to prevent pregnancy or really pinpoint ovulation - but I supposed it might give you a helpful general overview?

Maybe OV sticks / LH testing would work better in your circumstances if you're TTC?

I used to work shifts and used a BBT thermometer back then. My temps were rockier than other charts I've seen but FF could still detect the thermal shift.
I use an Ava bracelet now which tracks my temperature over night.

I don't take mine consistently and it mostly seems to follow a reliable pattern. I can definitely see a clear pre and post ovulation shift. Most important thing for me was to take the temp vaginally. I couldn't get anything sensible with oral temperatures.

Thanks all! I might just see how it goes for a while and if it doesn't work for me then I can always stop 😊
