Clear blue digital weeks indicator

Hi
I did a clear blue just now which shows 1-2 weeks
Yet the sex that would’ve created this baby was on 10th feb - nearly 3 weeks ago
Does this mean my hormone levels are lower than they should be ? Is it a cause for concern?

Thanks

Since sperm hang around a while is it possible you’ve ovulated a few days after having sex and conception is later than you thought?
They’re not an exact science those tests and urine hcg levels vary a bit over the course of the day and from person to person. I wouldn’t worry.

Thank you
Maybe it’s because my wee was rather dilute then.

You should always add 2 weeks onto those test, seriously, google it :)

The clear blue test date your pregnancy from ovulation, the drs will date your pregnancy from the date of your last period, around 2 weeks before ovulation, therefore making you 2 weeks more pregnant :)

Thanks
I am 4 weeks since my last period so should t it be flashing up at 2-3 weeks though ?

I also did a few normal tests and the lines are quite pale - considering I am two days late for my period shouldn’t they be dark lines ?

Lorddenning1 · 02/03/2018 21:58

I’ve never used a digital test before as they didn’t exist last time I was pregnant- wishing I’d stuck to old fashioned ones now !!

Thank for your reassurance anyway.

Yes- in theory you should be 2-3 weeks on the digital. But they work in a non prescise way- there are optical sensors inside the device which ‘read’ the strength of the line converting it into a digital reading.
If you don’t use fmu or produce levels slightly less than the norm it can chuck out inaccurate results.

I’d probably sit on your hands for 48 hours by which time your current hcg levels should have doubled and even allowing for late ovulation you would definitely be in the 2-3 week window. It’s unlikely but just in case- be aware of symptoms of ectopic as that can cause slow rising hcg- not to worry you- it’s far more likely to be a combination of dates a bit later and the tests working on ‘standard thresholds’ and not being able to account for varying strengths of samples.

Have you read the information leaflet in the packet? I'm fairly sure it explains the weeks thing in there (I was confused too when I used one). It's because the test measures how long from conception whereas all midwifes etc will count from your last period, therefore adding two weeks on.
