I just after some advice. Im tracking both bbt and cm on Flo. My bbt seems to be so spiky and predicts ovulation in 6 days but my cm suggests it is imminent. Which is more reliable? (Im fairly new to all this).

hi! I have struggled with my BBT as I don't sleep well so it is all over the place..i personally find Opks are the best way, they have picked up the LH hormone surge which triggers ovulation each month I have used them

Lots of things can affect bbt. Do you temp aurally or vaginally?

Oral

If you temp vaginally then you're more likely to get an accurate bbt reading so it might help smooth out your spiky bbt chart.

Bbt doesn't predict ovulation. Cm does. Bbt only confirms. And you can ovulate in different days some months. Plus in my experience things can throw off an opk.

I had an MC a couple months back. Before that I had pretty standard cycles, CFBM said peak, had positive opks, then ovulated. Since MC I've ovulated late, and then this cycle ovulated early. But last month had no peak or positive opk, this month I got them the day after my ovulation.

Easiest thing... DTD every other day and temp. This will confirm you ovulated. Cm will warn you.

Good luck, 🤞

Agree with Cake BBT doesn’t predict ovulation, so I’m not sure how it’s predicting 6 days. I assume the 6 days is actually based on previous data and cycles. All BBT can do is tell you whether you have or haven’t ovulated yet. So if CM is showing you might soon, you might well see a rise in BBT a day or two later.
