So had MMC in June 2017. Gutted. Roll on to early Feb 2018 and I've just been diagnosed with Graves Disease. Started on the medication but now my extremely regular 3 week 3 day periods have stopped. Is there any hope I'll have a child. 40 this year.

Sorry to hear about your diagnosis, Presh. Forgive my ignorance, but isn't Graves Disease thyroid related? If so, that might have been why you are struggling to conceive? As for the missing periods, it might just be the stress of diagnoses and the new medication. I'm sure they will return once things even out. I know that's not much consolation right now though xxx

I know someone who was in a very similar situation Presh, they had underactive thyroid which was picked up when they went for infertility testing in their 40s. They got it sorted on medication, took a while, and then had IVF and have a 3 year old now :)

Tell your thyroid doc (if you have one) that you want to conceive. With my friend they gave her slightly higher dose of levothyroxin so her TSH went to nearer 1 than 2 because it is supposed to help conceive or something. If using just your GP, it may be an idea to book a private consultation with a thyroid specialist (so time is on your side) if you can afford it and talk it through. Thyroid issues can be tricky and many GPs admit that they only know the basics.

Meant to say, I think Graves is overactive thyroid, but getting it sorted on medication still stands
