Can you help me understand my cycle?

I've been on hormonal contraception since I was 15 years old. I'll be 30 next birthday Confused

I've come off of all contraception as my husband and I are wanting to conceive.

One thing I want to do is understand what is going on with my body and cycles and what have you. It's early days, my coil only came out on 5th Feb, so I'm aware that things are unlikely to be regular for a while.

I've downloaded the Ovia app and actually, so far, things seem to be following the right patterns...

On 12th February, I had very definite EGWM (it was a bit of a shock!). 13th was watery and 14th was thick/creamy.

My understanding of this is that I may have ovulated around 12th-13th? I've put this into the app, and the projected fertile window is bang on where I've wanted to DTD and not wanted to!

Can anyone confirm that I'm kind of on the right lines with this thinking, or am I completely off the mark?

Can you help me understand my cycle?

Probably... that's about as certain as things can be in the ttc world... probably.

Sounds about right. I find recording bbt the most helpful for understanding what's happening.

I used the Ovia app when trying to conceive after removing the implant and it was spot on for me (using it again now). Cycles were within a few days of expected each time so that obviously helped. If you're putting info in regularly it seems to work well for most people so definitely think positive about what the app is telling you. Could try some OPKs too.

I have no experience with the Ovia app for cycle tracking but I personally don't trust apps that are only based on one symptom. Some people have fertile mucus more than once a month.
When I came off HBC I started tracking by taking my body basal temp and and also cervical mucous.
It really depends if you want to take it easy with TTC or go full on straight away. As some women in family have struggled to get pregnant I wanted to make sure I tracked my cycle from the start as well as I could, I learned so so much about my body in the few months I was off the pill but still TTA. We got married in September and from that point onwards we were TTC. I conceived in October. I put it down to a hell lot of luck but also to knowing my body and cycle.
I use the app kindara (and also their thermometer but it's only worth it if you really want to be serious about BBT), I find it very easy to use and it has the option to share your chart, ask questions etc. There's a book out there called "Taking charge of your fertility" by Toni Welscher and I can highly recommend reading this.

Thanks for the input :) I'm not wanting to make TTC the be all and end all, but my cardiologist has told me that if we're wanting a child, to do it now whilst my heart function is good and risk is lower.

I'll continue with the app for now and see how things go!
