Clearblue Clinical Trial on Mumsnet

Mammabear31 · 03/02/2018 08:02

Hi all,
Just a heads up that MN are looking for people to join the Clearblue Clinical Trial on the Product Test boards. I did it last year and all you have to do is use their fertility monitor for a month, fill in a diary with the results and send back.

I got a £50 voucher for my trouble so it's worth it 😊

@DaisyMay25 That's what we will probably do. I get too hung up on all this testing and scheduling Blush

Fingers crossed for both of us!

Please ignore my question about how to collect the wee. I've found time to have a proper look through the info pack and there's actually a massive section about how to do it and it's really clear!

Rainyshowers · 17/02/2018 14:43

I'm in the control group. I really wanted to be in the active group. It feels a bit crap after having a miscarriage then getting the disappointment of af each month and now this disappointment too. Not sure whether to just not do it. What's the point if in the control group. Sorry negative day today.

seven201 · 17/02/2018 20:25

I admit I would have been gutted if I was in the control group. But... at the end of it you get the £100 voucher and sent some ovulation sticks to use, so it's worth it for that I suppose. Sorry to hear about your miscarriage Thanks

DaisyMay25 · 17/02/2018 23:29

I'm quite happy to be in the control group, it given me a bit of relief and a break from the pressure a bit tbh

MoooominMama · 12/03/2018 11:11

Not pregnant this time.... on to cycle 2!

anotherchangetomyname · 12/03/2018 11:54

I start today. I've sent offy pregnancy test and my wee. Seemed very odd! Im in the active group.

The point of a control group is to show that if you use the clear blue device you are more likely to get pregnant (or not as the case may be). Every one in the control group gets 2 months use of the product after the trial anyway.

winterwarmers · 22/03/2018 09:08

I was accepted onto the study yesterday and should receive my pack today or tomorrow, hoping in on the active group

Liane1984 · 23/03/2018 15:29

I’ve posted my first sample and the test. Do I need to do anything else or will they send me the other bits I need? I’m in the control group x

HeresMeh · 23/03/2018 16:20

Just FYI... I joined this trial and got pregnant on the first cycle of trying after trying previously for 4-months!

All the very very best to you that have joined up Smile

DaisyMay25 · 23/03/2018 16:58

@Liane1984 I'm in the control group too, in my second cycle. About a week before your period is due they'll email you to tell you they've sent you a pack out. It's pretty much the same thing you did with the initial test you sent off. They'll give you dates to test (mine was the day after my period had started so I only had to do one test)

Liane1984 · 23/03/2018 17:20

@daisymay25 They get you to test the day after you start your period?
Are the days you have to test different for everyone, do you know?

DaisyMay25 · 23/03/2018 17:36

@Liane1984 I think they're tailored to you based on the info you gave them. It's all pretty straight forward though Smile

winterwarmers · 23/03/2018 18:27

@HeresMeh that's great news were you in the active group testing the new product?

HeresMeh · 23/03/2018 18:45

Hi @winterwarmers - yes I was testing the product. Prior to that I was going by the Flo and Ovia app for ovulation predictions.

The Clearblue product I tested gave me peak ovulation about 3 days after I was expecting it based on the app predictions, so that was a big shock for me.

winterwarmers · 23/03/2018 18:52

@HeresMeh that's great i'm cd 4 and can't wait to start in 5 days

seven201 · 23/03/2018 20:34

I did it and was in the active group. I got pregnant during the first month (sadly ended in an early miscarriage), but glad I did it. I already use clearblue advance so doing the trial didn't affect me becoming pregnant as I would have dtd on the same days anyway. It's effectively two months of good quality ovulation prediction (so don't have to buy your own) plus £100 voucher. Win win!

MoooominMama · 20/04/2018 11:04

Didn't get pregnant :( but it's worth it for the voucher and ovulation tests.

Tattooedredhead · 12/05/2018 08:18

Has anyone had their vouchers/ovulation sticks if in the control group yet? I fell pregnant on the trial but miscarried. I was in the control group so I’m looking forward to the free ovulation sticks that are due to arrive 😊

DaisyMay25 · 12/05/2018 10:57

@Tattooedredhead I got mine about ten days after. You can always email them if it's been a while since you ended the trial?

strawberrye · 12/05/2018 11:11

@Tattooedredhead I'm in exactly the same situation as you and still waiting for vouchers and OPKs

Amy39 · 05/02/2019 16:00

When you applied for this was you suppose to receive an email aswell? As I applied and I've had nothing?
