Clesrblue dual hormone ovulation test query

I am looking for anyone who has experience using the clearblue dual hormone ovulation tests.

We are on month 4 of TTC#2, first cycle using OPKs. Started testing CD8 as soon as AF stopped. Got one negative that day. I have had flashing smileys since then. I'm now on CD16. I have that's 9 days of flashing smileys. I had a small amount of EWCM (much less than normal) on CD14 (when fertility friends says I would ov) and it is now sticky and thick (and sparse)

I have tested each morning with FMU as suggested by clearblue.

So, my question is, does anyone with experience of these ovulation tests know how likely It is they could miss the surge? I can't help but feel ovulation had passed. We've BD'd plenty so hopefully we'll catch it anyway but I don't want to spend the next two weeks hoping for something there's absolutely no chance of.

Have attached my chart too. First month tempting. The dip happened after a night out and not a lot of sleep!

Any help would be really appreciated xx

Yes, you can miss your surge. In fact I have been pregnant in a cycle when that happened.
For next cycle, get some internet cheapies and use them in the afternoon/ evening. The LH surge often starts in the early hours of the morning and so might be best to test for it between about 2pm and 6pm. I also tend to have quite a short sharp surge so it’s not unusual for it to be picked up in the afternoon and missed on morning tests.

Because your chart is incomplete it’s hard to know what has happened. The ‘dip’ you’ve identified doesn’t necessarily mean anything. But it looks as though you may not have ovulated to me, as your temps seem to be higher in the earlier part of your cycle than they are now (and post ovulation temps should generally be higher than pre-ov temps), and while normal basal body temperature various from woman to woman 36.4 seems to me kind of low for a post ovulatory temp. It could be that you are having an anovulatory cycle, but hard to tell.

Also, you appear to be using a thermometer with only 1 decimal place. You need one with 2 decimal places and to take your temp immediately on waking either orally or vaginally (pick one and stick to it).

Thanks very much for your reply.

I used a cheapie this morning alongside the clearblue and there was a relatively dark line. Not as dark as the control line though. Maybe I just ovulate later than I originally thought and it's on the way.
