I have the nexplanon implant and have had it since last spring.

Its generally caused me to bleed every two weeks pretty much since it was inserted

A while ago i noticed it had a dip in the middle and questioned if it was broken. The nurse at my gp surgery told me they are designed to bend. All information online states this too and that even if it had bent it will still work.

I now havent had a period since before christmas. My boobs hurt and my bras are tight. Ive had cramping similar to period pain for the last few weeks but yesterday it was much more intense. The pain is central and low down.

Please tell me i am fucking nuts and its all in my mind

Oh bless you, I do understand but equally (and I think you know this!) it won’t change YOUR outcome. The earlier you find out, the earlier you can deal with this (if pregnancy is unwanted). It will be scary but if you ignore it and you are pregnant, then that would be worse the further along you get.

SandysMam · 25/01/2018 06:49

For what it’s worth, I doubt you are but a quick test will relieve your fears!

Battleax · 25/01/2018 06:58

Confused

Do. A. Test.

Namechangeroo2 · 25/01/2018 07:04

I know i should i just dont want to have to face up to the reality if its positive

Intense cramping isn't normally a symptom of pregnancy. But do a test to be on the safe side.

Battleax · 25/01/2018 07:11

Well if you are pregnant, but you don't test, where does that leave you?

Dodging reality only ever causes problems. It doesn't solve them.

Chances are you're not anyway.

Namechangeroo2 · 25/01/2018 07:24

I just need to bite the bullet dont i

Tbh for me it wouldnt be the end of the world but dp would not be happy

I think thats why i dont want to test

I cant face that conversation

Yes, just do it. By yourself.

Worry about results when you have them.

unicorncow · 25/01/2018 09:47

The only way to know for sure is to test, good luck and hope you get the result you want

Darkstar4855 · 25/01/2018 14:33

You are very unlikely to be pregnant. The implant is well known for causing irregular bleeding or no bleeding at all and it has progesterone in it so that could well explain the sore boobs. Please do a test and give yourself some peace of mind.

LittleFryingPan · 25/01/2018 14:37

Please do a test! I have a thread at the moment because I have the implant but was experiencing what felt like a miscarriage. It is and I'm about 12 weeks along. Too late for me to have much choice but if it hadn't happened I would have carried on my merry way without knowing before I was to late to have a choice.

Please test Thanks

Bubblegum89 · 25/01/2018 14:58

I had the implant in for 18 months. Around month 15 of having it and having regular periods, no symptoms of any kind and generally light bleeding, things went a bit weird. I was a few days late, my boobs were agony (I had only ever had sore boobs twice in my life and both times was when I was pregnant) then when my period did show up, it was a little heavier than normal.

So it CAN do weird things to your cycle even after being on it for a while. But like every type of contraception, it’s not 100% effective. Unfortunately the only thing you can do is take a test. It’s unlikely you are pregnant as the implant is still one of the most effective forms of contraception but there is still a possibility so you need to test, as you need to know for reasons such as seeing a midwife/taking the right supplements/not drinking etc or arrange other options before it becomes to late.

There is absoloutly no line here right?

Please tell me i am nuts

LordSugarWillSeeYouNow · 28/01/2018 06:33

Well done op for testing.

I can't see a line and I've looked at it at every single angle.

Namechangeroo2 · 28/01/2018 06:36

Thats good

I felt sick all day yesterday and still do now so i am pretty surprised tbh

Does anyone know if there is any truth in people saying after so many weeks you have too many hormones and can get a false negative?

OP posts:
LordSugarWillSeeYouNow · 28/01/2018 06:42

If anything op I've heard the opposite.

Very early in the hcg levels are quite low hence the often very faint lines on early tests.

Iirc,
Pregnancy hormones multiply at the rate of knots so testing say a week later would just result in a much stronger line which would appear quicker than the first one.

I would keep testing if you're still worried but that is definitely negative.

Namechangeroo2 · 28/01/2018 06:46

I think i may order a pack of frer

What i was referring to is i believe known as the hook affect

OP posts:
Spam88 · 28/01/2018 07:32

I did a test when I was 13 weeks and got a very positive result, so I don't think there's any truth to that OP (although I've also heard that before).
