I just wondered if anyone had any experience of the chicken pox vaccine, when pregnant.
I am TTC and am paranoid about getting chicken pox when I finally get pregnant. Can I ask for the vaccine?

All advice welcome

Op, didn’t you have chicken pox as a child? Most people by adulthood are immune to it? Why would you need the vaccine? Sorry if I’ve missed something.....

You can ask for them to test to see if you’re already immune to chicken pox; you will be if you’ve already had it.

No I didnt. My mum thinks Im immune as she exposed me to it loads to try and get me to catch it.
I will see if I can get my GP to test if I am immune.

It’s possible to have it so mildly you didn’t know you had it - ask them for the blood test, you might be surprised!

I think I read recently that it's important to leave a gap after having the vaccine and TTC (maybe a month or so?) might be worth checking out if you do get the vaccine.
Citydoc offer it (if there's a local citydoc to you) and it's £65 per jab- 2 are required.

My mum was convinced I hadn't had it, yet I was confirmed to have immunity. Hopefully it'll be the same for you.
