Has anyone tried Agnus Castus?

I've done a bit of googling and apparently Agnus Castus is a good herbal remedy to kick start your ovulation or help it stabilise your CDs.

Has anyone tried it or had success?
CD 80 since coming off Cerelle and no withdrawl bleed or period yet.

unmmm well i took whilst NOT ttc... i was trying to balance my hormones as i noticed i was getting depressed in luteal phase.... first cycle i got pregnant.

I'm less depressed now though! i don't have time to be depressed!

SpadesOfGlory · 08/01/2018 17:20

Are you meant to only take it up to ovulation or every day of the month? Can't seem to find clear instructions anywhere! Seems like it works for a lot of people though

Branleuse · 08/01/2018 18:49

i dont know about fertility, but its great for PMT

hungryradish · 08/01/2018 18:56

I've not heard of it before but definitely going to have a look into it now!

I used Lindens brand ones they are about £6 a bag and last me a month

PurplePotatoes · 08/01/2018 20:09

Yes - I have PCOS and cycles were 50-70 days. We were ttc for 18 months with no joy. Took agnus castus for a few months and fell pregnant with DD...
Took it for a few months prior to ttc again ...and I fell pregnant first month of ttc!
So would definitely say it's worth a go.

Aworldofmyown · 08/01/2018 20:11

It worked for me. Isn't it not recommended as a supplement now though? (I took it 11 years ago)

Loz604 · 08/01/2018 22:23

I too have recently come off the pill (29.12.17) to ttc #1. I was looking into ac but then saw some reviews about star flower oil- seems to have many health benefits. Has anyone used this? Not sure whether to see what happens naturally or use some help straight away.

Praisebe · 08/01/2018 23:48

I've been looking at soy isoflavones too which are supposed to be Clomid without the prescription

ppeatfruit · 09/01/2018 09:53

I totally agree with the ops about Evening Primrose Oil (it is fab for all female problems). Borage oil (starflower oil) too.

Peanutty86 · 10/01/2018 11:08

I've not read all the messages here but I've taken Angus Castus and it really regulated my cycles. Then also started evening primrose oil to increase cm.
I took AC all the way through my cycle before TTC, then I stopped once I ovulated (confirmed by temp spike). I got pregnant first cycle TTC, might be a coincidence but I'm sure the AC helped. It does take a few weeks to see a difference with it though. EPO seemed to work a lot quicker.

MrsD2017 · 11/01/2018 20:23

I've started taking it today!
I had my coil removed dec 12th and nothing since hoping it helps me ov and regulate to ttc x

These responses have made me hopeful I have been feeling rubbish all day because I was feeling really positive this month and then got my period this morning Sad

SaturdaySauv · 12/01/2018 16:45

praisebe I am trying soy isoflavones for the first time this month. I took 200mg (5x40mg) of the Solgar brand from amazon on days 2-7. I'm on CD 15 and I don't think I've ovulated yet (but normally ovulate late if at all) but fingers crossed for the next few days. I'll let you know how I get on.
